Hmm. The fact that they're dropping the charges "citing national security concerns" must mean one of two things:
(a) Cpt. Yee had some gooooood stuff on him that can be used to make much more important intelligence gains or arrests down the road; or
(b) The military's case has imploded and they don't want to be humiliated, so they're using the "national security concerns" fig leaf.

Note that government figured out in the middle of the case that they didn't even know which, if any, of the documents were actually classified.
Given that level of incompetence, I think it's a safe bet that they're covering their ass.

I agree, but I am hoping it is (a). Not that dropping the charges is going to do any good if he was innocent.
He will be out soon, and if he was innocent, he is sure to raise a hellified stink.
