Police of the Judea and Samaria district raided homes of a number of right-wing activists believed to be responsible for operating Kach and Kahane Chai websites. The webmasters were taken into custody. Both Kach and Kahane Chai, organizations promoting the ideology of late Knesset Member Rabbi Meir Kahane, were outlawed by Israel in 1994 (Rabbi Kahane was murdered by an Islamist terrorist in New York in 1990).
The police operation, codenamed "Trojan Horse", was the result of a three-month investigation. Police stated that the operation was carried out with the cooperation of Interpol. As a result of the operation, police report, the Hebrew websites are down as of today. However, within one hour of the police announcement, the websites were operating once again.
Following the police raid, Kach activist Itamar Ben-Gavir released the following statement: "Instead of arresting Hamas terrorists who operate openly in the Galilee area, they come to a group of 'good Jews' seeking to spread the truth. They will not silence us. We will continue to spread the word and maintain the Kahane website." Ben-Gavir also chided the police, saying, "What can you do? They arrested the wrong people."
Four other Kach activists were arrested Saturday night during a demonstration in support of Noam Federman, currently held without charges in administrative detention.
In October of 2003, four websites operated by Kach and Kahane Chai were officially included by the United States State Department on its list of "foreign terrorist organizations". It was the first time the list was extended to include Internet sites, although both organizations were already designated by the State Department as "terrorist organizations".

That's quite an achievement for an organization that has never even claimed responsibility for any terrorist act.

I think there was something saying that of all the terror groups operating in Israel and the Palestinian Authority, Kahane's websites were the only ones listed on the website, without listing Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Fatah's websites.

>Kahane's websites were the only ones listed on the website
Kahane.org responds to State Department -- The recent designation of Kahane.org and other Kahane sites as Foreign Terrorist organizations by the U.S. State Department is another one-sided, anti-Jewish, decree passed by the blatantly anti-Israel State Dept.
This recent designation will definitely go down in history as one of the most irrational and obscene decisions ever carried out by the U.S. government.
How does a website become a terrorist or a Foreign Terrorist Organization? Is it the fonts or html format that makes the anti-Semites in the State Department dizzy? Is it the Jewish star or the fist that symbolizes Jewish resistance to modern day Nazis that upsets our friends in the State Department? There never was any legal justification to place the Kahane groups known as Kach and Kahane Chai on the terrorist list of the State Department. They never engaged in terror!!!
Now, the websites that espouse the Kahane ideology that is firmly based in Torah is declared terrorist. Bombs and grenades are terrorism. Pencils, html and Torah- Bible are views and ideas!!!
It seems that our words of truth scare them more than bombs and real terror. After all, Hamas, Hizbullah and Alkeada's websites are not on the State Department list of terrorist organizations. How sick and bizarre is that? Louis Farrakhan and hundreds of other white and black Nazi groups are not outlawed and their sites are not labeled terrorist, inspite of their terrorist words and actions. Yet Kahane.org a vehicle of Torah ideas that never engaged in anything more than expressing views based on Torah is on the list.
Where is the outcry of the civil rights activists when it is Jewish religious and political rights being violated? ..."

The Israeli police are secular extremists who are attacking these groups because they are operated by religious Jews. Such an IDIOTIC waste of time to spend three months on this police "operation." Idiots.

Not settled on Kahane's methods, I nevertheless think that ant any Jew who would countenance an Arab state in Eretz Yisrael is a fool.

I gather these organizations are basically Israeli versions of American militia groups? Anyways, nothing the State Department does surprises me. That place is jam-packed with leftist appeasers, socialists, and scumbags. No doubt a few America-hating traitors, too.
You expect this kind of nonsense to flow freely from the State Departments of Democrat Presidents like Clinton, but I cannot figure out why Bush and Powell have been unable to fumigate the place after three-and-a-half years.

Just because a person or some people claim to support Rabbi Kahane, doesn't make all supporters extremists. That's not a fair assessment. I know people who were close with Rabbi Kahane, and I also know people who live in Bat Ayin. Should any of them be condemned because of the actions of a so called splinter group?
