God no, I have 19 hours of flying next week, it will necessitate much beer.

re: How about just outlawing drinking on the airlines (for the children of course).)))

There are those who will not fly without a belt...

They've outlawed using the restrooms about 1/2 hour prior to landing, so plan accordingly, friend!

Hah!!!

Some activist judge would just declare a mistrial until a verdict came in awarding the airline to the alcoholic passenger.

There is no countersuit for sheer idiocy by the airline against the passenger. Sorry.

"US Airways failed to warn (Schuler) and its other passengers of the increased effect that consumption of alcoholic beverages has on airline passengers who consume alcoholic beverages while in flight and while flying at night,"

This sounds like something Homer Simpson would say.

JOHN EDWARDS! PAGING JOHN EDWARDS! PLEASE PICK UP THE NEAREST WHITE COURTESY PHONE FOR AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE. PAGING JOHN EDWARDS!

He's priced this right. US Scareways will pay him 15K to just go away. Petty cash to them, I'm sure.

I've had several encounters like this guy had. I am going to sue all those bars who didn't warn me that I could get falling down drunk like I did.

Hold on people, don't be so dismissive of this apparent frivolous law-suit.

A few years ago a guy was awarded something like $50 million dollars after suing General Motors. Wanna know why?..

He was driving DRUNK (which he admitted) in his Chevy Blazer, did NOT have on his seat belt (admitted), did NOT have his doors locked (admitted) and then he had an 'accident' and rolled-over. Weeeeell, the driver door became open and he was then NATURALLY thrown from the Blazer (laws of physics at work). The 'jury' found GM at FAULT because the door opened and was liable for his injuries!!

Now as I recall, GM filed an immediate appeal and the guy didn't see a red cent. But the next time you go buy a GM vehicle and look at the sticker, thank this guy, his lawyer and this 'jury'.

An aside; this happened in a southern state, I can't recall which one. Maybe Georgia or Alabama..
