Thank you.

Now we are getting smart......er. The Shia's and Sunni's both fear the Kurds. Lets let the Kurdish troops take a bigger role.
As a matter of fact, lets let the Kurds take over interogation of Saddam and the rest of the deck of cards (that are not already at room temperature).

You think ten or fifteen years ago any of those soldiers could have imagined this?

Now the games begin.
These Kurds have been very patient and have followed orders well, and if these Sunnis and Shiites aren't careful the Kurds will run their mosques.

Isn't the oil really in THEIR territory?

There's a strong message to the Sunni triangle residents here: get your $#!+ together, or guys like these will be the occupational forces when the Americans pull back. And they won't be nearly as nice or generous as the Americans.

Let's hope they behave justly and don't needlessly inflame interethnic passions. Yes, let's.
Above all things, let us not make anybody angry.

I believe it is. I think they deserve it more than anyone in Iraq. The problem is the Turks don't want the Kurds to have their own country in that part of Iraq so close to the Turkish border. They have a problem with the idea of Kurdish homeland.
To: Dog
I think the Kurds are entitled to get into this fight. You bet they are Dog. And the fact that they are special forces means they are the ones we trust will act with honor. They will.

But then, If there is one thing the Iraqis need more than anything else, it is a strong dose of truth.
To: Dog
Too bad we couldn't just liberate the Kurds and let the rest of Iraq alone.

Yes, me too...very good news.
This whole thing is a terrible event, but we all knew it was coming.
Kerry and the dims would let time pass and the terrorists hit us repeatedly on our own soil.
Dubya takes the fight to them.
I'm rootin' for the Kurds, and their friends, the U.S. Marines.

The Kurds remind me a little of israelis. So principled and strong in the face of such overwhelming odds.

I notice you were on that wild thread this morning - I got on late, it seemed to be a poster from Poland with a relative (brother?) who was in Iraq and using a sat phone to give minute by minute status of an attack. I know the mods pulled it because of the "loose lips sink ships" rule, but that was some intense stuff, what did you make of it?
To: Dog
We should build a Ramstein-type air base in Kurdish territory and guarantee Kurdish autonomy. Then let the Shiites in the south and the Sunnis in the triangle fight among themselves.
To: HardStarboard
"As a matter of fact, lets let the Kurds take over interogation of Saddam and the rest of the deck of cards (that are not already at room temperature)." And give them a sub-contract to put together a civil administration........
If the rag-heads don't want to play then tough shite/shia/sunni.......whatever
