Islamic Threat Now Faces Belgian Jewish Community

18:05 Apr 08, '04 / 17 Nisan 5764

(IsraelNN.com) According to a report aired on the Channel 1 TV Erev Hadash news magazine program, Belgium?s Jewish community has been threatened by the European wing of the Arab League. An Arab League official approached community leaders, placing an emphasis on the diamond merchants, warning that continued support for Israel might lead to an attack against them. The report added that the Jewish community is taking the threats seriously, and have already contacted elected Jewish officials, the local police, and the nation?s justice minister.

A member of the Belgian diamond merchant?s community interviewed on the program confirmed reports that members of the Jewish community are afraid and at present, refrain from being outdoors during the nighttime hours.

Ironic -

They have no right to bear arms and defend themselves

They most likely voted for the politicians who took their arms away

An Arab League official approached community leaders...warning that continued support for Israel might lead to an attack against them.

If European Jews had any common sense, This "Arab League official" would have been shot dead and delivered back to his comrades as a warning. I honestly believe European Jews aren't happy unless they're being persecuted.

Any Jew who remains willfully unarmed has earned my scorn and disgust.

Nothing to worry about - if Kerry is elected, he'll talk to the terrorists, they will abandon their plans and then go away. [sarcasm]

That is because you've never lived other than being free. To refine your beliefs, you should get out more often. Travel. Read books. You'll understand.

People like you always try to "justify" how Jews deserve persecution: they are too smart or not smart enough, have too many weapons or not enough... It's their fault.

Clocked it! Stupid leftist Jews asking the gooberment to protect them after they got the disarmed, socialist utopia they probably voted for. Are you so intimately familiar with the political views of Beligian Jews? Have you ever been abrad? (Note: it is different from "being with a broad." I wanted to clarify, just in case.)

Ah, but it must be in their genes...

Now they will try to emmigrate here and push for gun control in the US.

Now we are getting to the heart of the matter: you dislike American Jews and just found a pretense to say it. How many do you know?

I'd have shot the SOB on the spot. Maybe this machismo works for your girlfriend, but this is a pretty silly remark: you would not have shot anybody blackmailing you. This has never been a part of our law or our tradition. Are you an American?

So, the thread is about Jews being threatened and attacked. You used it as a pretence to vent your dislike of the Jews. Pretty scummy thing to do.

I am sorry that the strength of my words was not perhaps proportional to what you said. But you've got to agree that in the post to which I replied you sang a very different tune. You did not differentiate any Jews, not even European and American ones. And, while appreciate your support and respect you for your personal courage, on whose "team" we are is still less important than the matter of principle.

Now, being Jewish, I am angry with my fellow co-religionists in this country for being blinded by the Left. We can debate why it happened; we can point to the reasons for that --- but that is for another day. But I do take an issue with your assessment of "Jews have a long and disgraceful tradition of supporting leftist political movements." Their support is not greater than those who abandoned Christian values for the leftist ones. Many Jews are overachievers and are consequently visible. One notices many Jewish names among the Russian Bolsheviks -- that does not make them over-represented. For all those Jews that were seduced by the promised, and delivered, equality, there are millions of Jews that left Russia for America and Palestine. In Amsterdam, Catholics and Protestants combined constitute 11% (by comparison, Muslims comprise 12%, the largest religion in that city), and we know how much to the left Europe currently lies. By comparison, of those under 30 years of age, 61% of Jews voted for Bush in this country.

For a person on "my team," as you put it, you somehow revert to the same wordings that one finds on… shall we say, not so wholesome web sites. Perhaps you should be aware of that: the company we keep matters, as you know.

For whatever it is worth to you, I am as pro-individual freedom (which includes, gun-ownership, of course) and vehemently anti-socialist as you are.

I'm Jewish. I had relatives who died in the death camps. I had relatives who fought in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and then went on to help found the state of Israel.

If I wish to comment that modern European Jews have not learned the lessons of the Holocaust, that is my right.

So, the thread is about Jews being threatened and attacked. You used it as a pretence to vent your dislike of the Jews. Pretty scummy thing to do.

If you had even bothered to read any of my posts on other similar threads, you would have never made such an asinine comment.

I'm Jewish. I had relatives who died in the death camps. I had relatives who fought That makes two us. Sorry to hear that.

If I wish to comment that modern European Jews have not learned the lessons of the Holocaust, that is my right. Absolutely. And I would agree with you if you said that. But you did not.

I responded to what you actually said and not to what you may have said on another occasion, in another life, speaking in Aramaic.

If you had even bothered to read any of my posts on other similar threads,

No, I have not. Nor is it my obligation under any rules of debate. I responded to what you actually said.

Well, I see now: I am supposed to be omniscient and see trrough your words that you lost relatives in the Holocaust. I am also supposed to go and do research on you as a person before replying to your abominable post.

You, on the other hand, have no obligations to make yourself clear when you write. You must be a real babyboomer.

| I understand your emotions: I too would not be pleased if someone suspected me of being in bad company. However, if it did happen to me, I would reread my the words I wtote in haste and say to myself, "Given my poor choice of words, he could've misinterpreted my position." And then I would clear a misunderstanding. Having relatives murdered by the Nazi thugs does not impart any moral superiority to you and was completely irrelevant to our discussion.

Have a happy Passover.

Same to you. Didn't mean to jump on you; we're on the same side. I can get a little heated when the topic is Jews or Israel :^P
