Saturday Night Live Spoofs Condi Rice Testimony

Posted on 04/10/2004 8:52:52 PM PDT by myprecious

Janet Jackson spoofs Condi Rice by flashing at the 9/11 hearing on Saturday Night Live.

Chaney was helping her prep for the interrogation, but tells her to "flash her headlight" to distract if things got tough.

I don't watch any of Tina Fey's movies anymore. Too much of a hassle having to feed a quarter every three minutes to keep it playing...

Ewwwww! I think you owe an apology to peep show skanks.

I don't think it was so much what Janet did - it was that she did it at the SuperBowl. And .. that program is on public airwaves. Janet can do all the sleeze she wants over of VH1 or MTV.

It's like 4th grade comedy at best.

My inner 4th grader did get a chuckle out of the 'cork soaker' sketch. (I kept expecting JJ to lose it)

I thought last weeks show with Trump was one of the best ones I had seen in years. Tonight's was lame at best.

Weekend Update has never been worse.

Condensed version:
Tina: This just in, Bush is dumb.

It seems to be perfectly okay to use racism in service of Democrat party objectives. I mean what do Condi Rice and Janet Jackson remotely have in common other than that they are both are Black Americans? One has an triple the IQ of the other, among other obvious differences of education, profession and culture. NBC and SNL are really disgusting.

People have to separate a funny performance with their political favorites. I thought it was a SCREAM. I was impressed with Jackson, who was in fact a great mimick and a great comedienne. I did NOT turn it on expecting to like her at all. The Cheney impression was GREAT. Remember the GREAT Capitol Steps; you can find them online and must listen to their CDS. They blast Republicans and Democrats and do well doing corporate events. But the thing about them is: they started as Republican staffers in Congress and performed at Ken Starr's parties. Yet, they hit all sides and everyone loves them. A funny bit is a funny bit. People MUST lighten up in this country.

Of course I do and what ever happened to them? I'm not surprised at their provenance. I became a Republican when I realized the left was incapable of intentional laughs. Something analogous with the French and British.

With all due respect, Janet jackson was dissed for a couple valid reasons.

1 - This was family time - MTV antics are not needed or appreciated. MTV has 24+ hours where they can replace the idea of love with just sex, infidelity, narcissism etc.

2 - Janet (and Justin) insulted the public's intelligence by stating that it was an accident. Timberlake was singing how she will be naked at the end of the song. Plus their stories didn't jive.

3 - We conservatives are always being told that we are not tolerant of women's rights (as defined by them) and yet not a peep out of them in regards to the degragation/control theme of the song.

4 - The bottomline is this was a publicity stunt to boost her sagging profile and get free publicity for her new album. She should be happy it was a controversy judging by her placement in the charts at the moment.

PS - This didn't help her brother in any way - just added to the public's valid assessment of the Jackson family as publicity-at-any-cost junkies.

I think we're all just a little sensitive with all the lib media "Big guns" going after Dr. Rice. Also the double standard where we know they wouldn't attempt to ridicule a lib under the same circumstances. After a performance worthy of high praise, people just feel like hitting someone when libs poke fun at someone who excelled at whupping them, but good.

I don't usually watch SNL any more, too many gay skits that just annoy me. Humor has to hit close to home and I can't relate. I watch Mad TV, they fry pretty much everybody, and it's funny.

If they really wanted to be edgy, they would spoof the ringleaders of the "9/11 Families" that seem to drag the media around by the ... hair. Imagine a newscast where the weather report, sports scores, market report, etc., were reported, then we turn to the "9/11 Families" to comment on every item.

But it is easier to make fun of black conservatives and pretend you are doing something new.

"the high tech lynching of Condi is going to backfire on the rats based on how many black folk have told me they're voting for Dubya."

That makes my day. Unfortunately, the blacks in my neighborhood are still crying that Clinton wasn't allowed to stay in the White House forever. The ones that I work with just don't discuss politics with me any more.

Sometimes (a lot of times) I have to watch what I say with people, because I can get *ahem* animated in political discussions. I find that either letting people find out for themselves or having calm, rational discussions works. Until recently, I would ignore discussions of politics because someone may not like what I say and get me fired. However, I think undecided voters are the key to this election and I don't want Kerry for president.
