KABUL, April 14 (Online): Taliban Supreme leader Mullah Mohammed Omar has said he is in Afghanistan but changes his locations quite frequently. In a telephonic interview with Indian news web site, rediff.com, from an undisclosed place in the Afghanistan, Mullah Omar also said he is perfectly fine. "God feeds me like he feeds other Muslims", he said.
About his meetings with Osama bin Laden, he said he met Osama months ago.
"We are in contact with each other. He is very much alive and kicking", he informed.
But denying disclosing the whereabouts of Osama, Mullah Omar said, "He is not in your (Pakistan) tribal areas, I say it on complete authority".
When asked about the mode of communication being used by Taliban and al-Qaeda people, he refused to give details. He said we have our own traditional system of communication.
In reply to yet another query, he was not regretful for providing safe sanctuary to Osama in his country. "Osama is the greatest Mujahid of the present times. He saved Afghans. How could we regret hosting him? I asked the world to provide evidence again him. He was innocent", he said.
He admitted of being under tremendous pressure to expel him, even from friends like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
"Your [former Pakistan] interior minister Moinuddin Haider and even General Pervez Musharraf met me personally to seek Osama's extradition.
But I refused", he informed according to the Indian website.
He said we'd to pay a very heavy price for this decision but we proved that the Taliban were independent people.
Mullah Omar said the US administration was hell bent to topple his legitimate government. "It would have still done so even had Osama been expelled", he argued.
He also informed that before vacating Afghanistan, Talibans dumped arms and ammunition in huge quantities at various secret locations. "We have enough to fight for decades. Besides, we snatch arms and ammunition from the coalition forces just like we seized it from the Soviet forces", he said.
The Taliban supreme leader admitted his fighters? carrying out suicide attacks against the coalition forces in Afghanistan. "We have set up a special suicide squad comprising 2,000 Taliban", he said.
Mullah Omar was not sure whether he was in Pakistan after his escape when US forces heavily bombarded the Tora Bora Mountains saying, "it's extremely difficult to judge whether one is physically in Pakistan or Afghanistan area, however, we don't stay at one place and keep moving".
When asked about the rationale behind dismantling historic Bamiyan Buddha statue in Bamiyan province, he said he did not want to destroy the Buddha statue.
"Some foreigners contacted me and said they want to conduct the repair work of the rain-damaged Bamiyan Buddha. This shocked me. These callous people, I thought, have no regard for thousands of living Afghans who were dying of hunger, but they are so concerned about non-living objects like the Buddha", he said.
"Their pathetic approach towards basic human issues prompted me to issue orders for the statue destruction?, he said.
The unrepentant Mullah maintained had they come for humanitarian work, I would have never ordered the Buddha's destruction.
Recording his personal opinion about General Musharraf, the Taliban Supreme Leader said he was used by the US to topple a legitimate government.
"He has committed a major sin and we will not forgive him", he said. "Gen Musharraf is not loyal to Pakistan and like (US president) Bush he too is a threat to the Muslim unity", he said.
He urged the people of Pakistan to wage jihad against Musharraf, remove him from power and punish him severely.
On Afghanistan elections, he said the Loya Jirga is a US ploy to derive legitimacy for the Karzai government. We denounce it.
He warned anyone who will register themselves as voters or cast votes in the forthcoming election, will be kill by his fighters.
"America is the greatest evil on earth. It is the enemy of Islam. Whoever is the US friend is the enemy of Islam. Killing the enemies of Islam is jihad. And we have already consigned to hell more than 1,000 infidels that include the Americans, their allies and their Afghan flunkies", he said.
When asked to clarify his position about a reported decree for killing women working with aid agencies in Afghanistan, Mullah Omar admitted of issuing Fatwa. "Yes. As I said, whoever sides with the US or its allies deserves death", he said.
Giving another 30-day warning to working women, the Taliban chief said they will have to confine themselves within the boundary wall of their houses, otherwise "death will be their destiny".
He said these agencies are preaching Christianity under the cover of development. Most of the Afghans have become apostate. They also deserve death. We will kill them.
About Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Mullah Omar said he is a puppet of America, just like Abdul Haq, Haji Abdul Qadeer and Ahmad Shah Masoud.
"We condemned these three traitors to death. By the grace of Allah, very soon, Karzai will also meet their fate. We want to show the world how the Taliban treats traitors", he vowed.
He also said the Taliban are not demoralized and the Taliban are united.
Rejecting some media reports he said Mullah Muttawakil has not tuned renegade. "He is in US custody, enduring the worst physical and mental torture. The US has failed to extract anything from him", he said.
However he said if I die today, there will be many 'Mullah Omars' to replace me. ?Similarly, if Osama dies today, there will be many 'Osamas' to replace him?, he said.
