Bottom line - you have witnesses who saw ANYTHING your little heart desired depending on which ones you 'pick' ...
Using the figures in the table you provided:
928 witnesses saw something, with 258 of them seeing a streak.
239 witnesses heard something.
I'd say that was a sufficient number of witnesses to indicate far more than a cargo door problem. But then again, I trust the "general public" more than you.
