It is time someone in the Pentagon gets off their butt.....and injects some leadership in Iraq. We just bleed US troops to take a section of Fallujah..and are just handing it back.....to the killers of those American troops.

I have mixed feelings about this.
This solution will probaly be celebrated by Jihadists all across the world.
However, this solution might be best to sort out the Iraqi situation, which in the end is the larger objective.
If Iraq succeeds, the terrorist "victory" in Fallujah will be for nothing.
The deal is dependent on the Iraqis doing the job. At the same time more heavy armor is on the way to the marines, who I think we be ready to step right into it if the Iraqi army is not up to its side of the bargain.

This situation in Iraq is starting to stink.
The war situation raises more questions than providing answers. Blind trust will only go so far. It is becoming time for more answers from the Bush administration. Are we winning the war? Is the war just a political gimmick to win re-election? Why are so many troops now being killed in Iraq? Who is running the war--WH, Pentagon, Field Office?

four former Iraqi generals under Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) had come forward and said that Iraq (news - web sites)'s army would be responsible for operations and security in the city. Uh-huh.

The chicken littles on FR amaze me. Do you really think you have the big picture sitting 6000 miles away from the action in front of your computer screen. Lets just say for the sake of argument that most of the bad guys are no longer in Fallujah. Do our guys gain much by marching through the city, being exposed to every IED left behind, and taking the blame for every civilian casualty that results? We're their to kill the enemy. Not capture territory. If the enemy is destroyed, our job is done.

This is not good. I am sure the resistance is calling this a victory.

Apparently Perry was wrong.

It's about time Iraqis take over their own security.
The Islamic cultists will have to come out and fight without hiding behind their women and children.

A military intelligence officer noted this week that there have been no large car bombings in Baghdad since the Marines surrounded Fallujah in early April. "Fallujah is a place that is rife with terrorist leaders and bomb-makers who are responsible for attacks not just in Fallujah but across Iraq," the officer said.
Except for the one car bobm this morning in southern Bagdad which killed 8 Marines.
So much for this prognostication.

Lets just say for the sake of argument that most of the bad guys are no longer in Fallujah.Hmm.. I wouldn't say that for the sake of argument simply because the perimeter of Fallujah was sealed off by the Marines a month ago....

FNC NOW reporting.................the whole report was BOGUS.
To: Dog
The problem is that people are getting their news from a pool reporter who is a reporter for the L.A.TIMES!!!!!
Oh, I wish Pukin Dog were here today to set everyone straight!!
Reports of Marines moving out are FALSE according to Fox military sources. They are simply repositioning!
Now, would all of you on this thread PLEASE think of who is doing the reporting and CALM DOWN!!
To: Rokke
It's now reported that the Marines are simply repositioning, maybe with some Iraqi troops joining them. The media leads us down the WRONG path, yet again.

Do you think it is ever possible to completely seal off a city? It's hard enough to seal off a city block. Locals always know how to get in and out.
