Scott Ritter Protest in NY
Star Gazette News ^

Posted on 04/30/2004 10:18:17 AM PDT by joebren

Scott Ritter will be at Corning West High, in NY tonight at 7:30. Sorry about the late notice, but we must get as many of us together as possible to protest him and the UN loving "Peaceful Gatherings" group. I called, and WETM-TV will be on hand, and seemed interested in showing the "other side" that we can provide.

If you're interested in meeting up for this, email me, joe71284@yahoo.com

Burger King Imitates Art
No Rest for the fat

Today Drudge links to a news story about some teenage pukes who hacked into the intercom system at Burger King. Supposedly, the drive-thru speaker told one customer, "You don't need a couple of Whoppers. You are too fat. Pull ahead." Beavis and Butt-head were here years ago.

The concept is slick, the execution clumsy. I can think of better stuff to say, if these kids want help.

1. "I didn't like this one." (fishtank)

2. For vegetarians. "No, ma'am. We do not have any vegetarian items. All our food was killed by having nails driven through its eyeballs after being tortured by Al Qaeda operatives." OR "No, we don't have any salad. Can I interest you in the Vivisection Sampler?" OR "Today the seal pup McNuggets are especially crispy." OR "Vegetarian food? I'm not sure. Is 'gray whale' a vegetable?"

3. For fat people who place big orders. "How many of you are in there?" OR "I'm sorry, the drive-thru is not for tour buses." OR "Relax, Slim. The food will still be here tomorrow."

4. For Indians. "Are you sure you want a burger? It might be your mom."

5. "Would you like that with or without Mad Cow?"

6. For skinny girls who order salad: "Would you like an intervention with that, Miss Carpenter?"

7. For Scott Ritter: "I'm sorry, sir, we closed the VIP room. Can I offer you some Mayonnaise and a picture of the Olsen twins?"

They need to hire the Man Show Boy.

The librulls at the Corning MisLeader left out the protest, even though they made it a point to document the conversation between the Peaceful Gatherings rep. and myself.

Where? I didn't see any mention of a protest at all.

I had only looked online, had seen the for all intents and purposes, "We Love Ritter" article only..

Apparently, back page, they printed the protest story. Here it is, verbatim. Then I'll tell you were it went wrong.

RITTER'S VISIT BRINGS PROTESTS
Painted Post - Scott Ritter's visit Friday to Corning West High school wasn't without controversy.

Joe Brennan, 19, and his brother Andy Brennan, 18, both of Horseheads, held signs at the school's entrance that read "Honk! if you're a hippie!" and "'U.N.' American."

Joe Brennan said that the United States was justified in going to war because Iraq had violated a part of the United Nations' resolution. Ritter, a former U.N. weapons inspector, has said that there was not enough evidence to go to war with Iraq based on his expertise.

Rhonda Morton, a member of Peaceful Gatherings, the group that organized the night's speech, debated with the brothers about their views.

Morgon said Ritter had dedicated his life to the military, and it did not make sense to call him a "hippie." She also said that though the United States leads the United Nations, they did not have the right to launch a unilateral attack on the Middle Eastern country.

"Why wouldn't the U.N. support us?" the elder Brennan asked.

"Because some people have a backbone," replied Morton, saying that those who supported the United States in the Iraq conflict were bought off with oil and food.

After they debated for a few minutes, Morton shook hands with both the teenagers and said that she apreciated them voicing their opinions.

"I'm really, really happy you came," she said. "I'd have more of a problem you sat quiet at home and said "This has nothing to do with me.' This way you are getting your message out." she said.

Morton asked if the teens would at least listen to the Ritter's speech, which they later did attend.

Ritter's speech was the third in the Peaceful Gathering's educational series titled "Clearing the Fog of War."

Other than the obvious grammatical errors in a few of the quotes, during our conversation, I never said that Ritter was a hippie, but that the Peaceful Gatherings' crowd, who hopes that the evil in the world will just go away if we don't act, are.

And, though it's not a big deal, I recall being the one to be sure that we shook hands, even joking with the Leader writer to make sure that she took a note of it.

All in all, an awesome experience. My first actual time ever really protesting anything of the sort. Can't wait to do more of it, if the time comes.

HE WAS paid over 100,000 dollars, I've heard as much as 450,000, by Iraq, to make a movie about Iraq.
