REDLANDS, Calif. For the past 40 years, the cross has been a part of the city logo of Redlands, Calif. (search) It appears on government buildings, official stationary and police uniforms, but according to the American Civil Liberties Union (search), it has to go.
"For a city seal to contain a sectarian religious symbol that reflects the views of only one segment of the community reflects an endorsement of a religion, and it's not constitutional," said Ben Wisner of the ACLU.
Faced with the threat of a lawsuit, the city backed down, covering the cross with blue tape and erasing it from business cards.

Another accomplishment by the American Left.

I (accidentally) saw a movie on LIFETIME channel the other day... they had a bunch of school children saying the pledge, and they left out the words "under God"

I wonder when they will start in on Maryland - we have crosses all over our state symbols: on the flag, on top of the flagpole, on the state seal, etc.

Maybe they will just outlaw right angles. Then nobody could make a cross.

And we the people sit back and take this crap......the systematic destruction of our heritage. Posterity means nothing to the ACLU, unless of course it is nihilism.

What's next? Change the names of cities such as San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica because they have the Spanish words for "saints" in them?

I have a feeling it won't be long before crosses displayed outside of a church, like on a steeple, sign etc will be outlawed because it may offend someone driving by. But the ACLU will be magnanimous is saying, "but it is perfectly fine to display it within the church, and by the way get rid of the steeple, we all know it points to heaven and that is most offensive."

Time to pay your City taxes in US Dollars, and then sue for a refund. Since the word 'In God We Trust" is printed on the dollar, the City can't have it both ways............

I've been waiting for someone to pull off a fake news-release from The
American Psychological Association about a new malady:
"Linear Right Angle Intersection Phobia"...in which the sufferer experiences
feelings of persecution and agitation over the crossing of two lines at right angles,
and at the same time babbles maniacally that the intersection of the two
lines "stands for nothing" and is the invention of insane spiritualists.
