KERRY CAMPAIGN USING PRISONER PHOTOS TO RAISE MONEY, GOP SAYS!!
Cybercast News ^ | 5/10/04

(CNSNews.com) - Republicans accuse the John F. Kerry Campaign of "politicizing" the Iraqi POW scandal to raise cash.

"The prison images from Baghdad are clearly disgusting, but it's harder to find words to describe those whose first instinct upon seeing them is to raise campaign cash with them," said RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie in a press release dated Sunday.

According to Gillespie, Kerry's Campaign Manager Mary Beth Cahill made fundraising pitches over the weekend, urging Kerry supporters to send money to the Kerry Campaign as a way of showing support for Kerry's demand that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld resign.

In her letter to supporters, Cahill said, "George Bush must fire Don Rumsfeld. But that is only the first step towards in taking responsibility for his Administration's failures in Iraq. John Kerry has called on Don Rumsfeld to resign, and today we are asking you to support him by adding your name to call for Rumsfeld to resign here."

According to Gillespie, "The words and actions of the Kerry Campaign over the past 48 hours show that in times that call for positive answers, they can only offer political attacks. In a situation that requires firm leadership, they put forward fundraising appeals."

A new "prisoner abuse" photo surfaced over the weekend, showing guard dogs attacking a naked Iraqi prisoner, and many more disturbing pictures -- reportedly showing rape and murder -- will soon be viewed by members of the Senate Armed Services Committee, press reports said.

In his Saturday radio address, President Bush said anyone involved in mistreating Iraqi prisoners will answer for their actions:

"What took place in that Iraqi prison was the wrongdoing of a few, and does not reflect the character of the more than 200,000 military personnel who have served in Iraq since the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom. America is a compassionate country that believes in justice and in freedom."

President Bush admitted it has been "a difficult few weeks" in Iraq, but he added that U.S. forces "will stay on the offensive, finding and confronting the killers and terrorists who are trying to undermine the progress of democracy in Iraq."

President Bush on Monday was making a short trip across the Potomac River to the Pentagon, where he'll meet with Rumsfeld and other military officials for a briefing on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

President Bush has said he stands by his defense secretary, and his trip on Monday reportedly was planned before the prisoner-photo scandal erupted.

Is the DNC saying that the prisoners being tortured are Democrats?

Oh, they forgot part of their "timeline!"

In January, they need to add that Hillary Clinton, Robert Byrd, Bill Nelson, Mark Dayton, and 12 other Congress people got LETTERS from one of the soldier's uncles telling them EXACTLY what was going on!

To be honest I don't think Kerry will get much of a backlash from this. This will never be in the mainstream press unless the GOP puts it out there. Cybercast is not exactly read by everyone.

Greetings, Newbie. Would you like to tell us something about yourself? Such as: Do you plan to vote for Bush?

Not quite

The Bush ad concerns leadership in a during a time when we desparately need leadership.

The entire Kerry campaigh is built around "everything negative is Bush's fault" followed by "I'm not Bush" and oh, by the way, "Did you know I served in Vietnam and I've got the video to prove it"

oh, no different than Bush using 9/11 photos to raise money.

Except that Kerry is violating the Geneva Conventions exploiting these photos of prisoners. There is no such violation with the photos of George W. Bush sitting on Air Force One.

Then again when was the last time you saw a publication (not website) showing ANY photos from the 9.11 attack. Did you EVER see a dead body in any of the pictures? Mighty antiseptic of the editors, wasn't it?

I never saw a pic of a dog attacking a prisoner. I saw a leashed dog being held by a guard well back from a prisoner.

The images of naked men tied to leashes ought to appeal to Kerry's core constituency.

You're right, they probably think they're paying money for copies of the photos by donating online at Moron.org.

That's old hat for him after his admitted war crimes. The only thing he hasn't flipped on is his willingness to violate the Geneva Conventions. Maybe he should put it in an ad!

I see no problem with Pres. Bush including footage of the WTC on a commercial that states the obvious, "who do you want to see respond to atrocoties such as this"?

Let them waste valuable campaign time and money beating this dead horse. What a bunch of numbskulls! They should be campaigning and focusing on the election rather than doing the same job the media and all the other lefty organizations are doing!

Oh no.

I don't know the democrat party anymore. There is something so degrading about what Kerry is doing and what he and ted kennedy and byrd and other in your face politicians have stooped to saying that I guess many here were right-klinton and his team of immature, short-shighted, publicity seeking, poll relying groupies managed to fully shred whatever semblance of dignity and worth this party once held.

I would be ashamed, genuinely ashamed, to be in that party. I honestly do not know how anyone could defend using this as a means to make money.

Do the dems want to crush our military, force us to fail, subject the Iraqi 's to the various terrorist factions operating there, do they want the war to be fought on our homeland, do they care one iota about feeding soundbites to the enemy?

I think not.

They obviously put their ambition above the welfare of their nation-no way do they deserve to sit in seats of power.

"Kerry's violating the Geneva Conventions"

I don't understand what that means, can you explain it to me ..?? I know what the Geneva Convention means, I just don't know the specific rules which might be applied here to Kerry.
