Notice how Fisher catches the ball with his feet in the air. So he landed on the ground, turned, pivoted and then shot in .4? No way.

Here is Fisher landing on the ground. Clock is still at .4.

Fisher starting to turn to the hoop. Clock still the same.

Fisher continues to turn. Clock continues to say .4.

Fisher pivoting. Clock frozen.

Fisher is beginning to go up with the shot. Still .4?!?!

Fisher is now all the way around, ready to go into shooting motion. The clock is amazingly still on .4.

But as I understand the referee on the floor must start the clicker, so the timekeeper wasn't responsible here.

Last years NBA final was the lowest rated in history. If you think the league is going to let that happen again, keep dreaming.

I'm not saying there's a conspiracy, but Stern has seen the numbers from the first round (and heard the complaints regarding the number of days between games). He's already said next year's postseason will be different.

San Antonio is in a funk. Hard to believe that they've lost three in a row after winning 15+ in a row. I hope they take it to a 7th game. There's something about a game 7 in the playoffs!

The clock doesn't start until the ball is caught; not when it is tossed.

In other news :
Fisher turned out the lights at the SBC Center and exited the building before it got dark inside.

You don't think LA being the largest TV market has anything to do with NBA referees making yet another business decision do you?

NCAA hoops are an incredible spectator sport, but I stopped watching the NBA years ago when they began calling penalties differently for and against "super stars". As far as I am concerned the NBA is on par with professional wrestling.

"Considering Kobe's situation, I would have said Calvin Murphy and not Bill Sharmans."

At least Kobe is taking care of his one child by his one wife, and not facing charges of lack of child payment for multiple children by multiple women.

That is where you can take your comment about "considering Kobe's situation.

"You don't think LA being the largest TV market has anything to do with NBA referees making yet another business decision do you?"

If that is always the case, it sure as hell didn't help the Lakers last year, did it?

This is the view that my mother takes. She belongs to the "black helicopter", "grassy knoll", "one shot or two" view of the world. When any team but the Lakers wins, especially when they beat the Lakers, it is because they were the better team. Whenever the Lakers win, the "fix" is in.

Supposedly the playoffs being extended to all 7 game series (as in hockey), was to be a big boon to the Lakers (how, I'm not quite sure).

What happens next? Kobe partially dislocates his shoulder on a dunk attempt in Game 2 of the 1st Round. He continues to play, but is nowhere near his aggressive self. Rick Fox shreds his heel (or Achilles, don't know which) during Game 3 or 4 of the same series. He next plays in January of this year.

That is a loss of six rings right there, which stretches to nine when Devean George suffers a badly sprained ankle early in the fourth quarter of a Game 1 against San Antonio that was a very winnable game for the Lakers.

Robert Horry, usually steady in the playoffs, was a total tank, including the infamous Game 5 in-and-out shot.

Things happen. Who knows, if either side could have made its free throws, they win by double digits.

NO GOAL!

I love chanting that whenever the Dallas Stars come to town.

Go Sharks!

Do you also like chanting "Gore Won"?
