I don't fully trust Cosby, if I'm not mistaken he's a solid RAT, but on this issue I agree. Good for him for bringing the issue front and center.

During his hit sitcom "The Cosby Show" in the 80s, Cosby made it a point that all cast members were to speak perfect English and none of that "finna, gonna, ain't" crap.

I've watched countless reruns and have never heard a word uttered Ebonics except when it was done for a punchline joke.

It only makes sense that to be successful in the country you live in...whatever country that is, you need to speak the language. It's not bigotry to expect every citizen of a political entity to be fluent in the common tongue.

Blacks are now the second largest minority group in the USA. Hispanics are now number one! Millions of Black children can neither read or write! Jesse Lee Peterson is NO FOOL. He is capitalizing on a watershed event in modern black America, a high profile black actually breaking silence in front of the poverty pimps of the NAALCP, and telling it like Rev. Peterson has been saying FOR YEARS!

I will note that the apparent inability to speak, read, and write English is not limited to persons of color or to immigrants. I once received an eight-page essay that contained exactly zero verbs, very little coherent structure, and no discernible relationship to the question asked--from a college student. It got zero points, and I was generous. It's clear to me that some people just cannot convey simple ideas in proper English sentences.

BILL COSBY IS RIGHT

That headline is dangerously close to "Bill Cosby is a right wing nut." He will lose all of his leftist brownie points after naming the twins on his show "Winnie and Nelson."

I wonder how the media will respond if "Dr. Huxtable" is perceived to be gettting close to steepping out off the plantation...Then again, imagine how Bill Cosby would respond if these remarks came from someone like Ann Coulter or David Horowitz.
