The term neo-conservative fits perfectly for those that put party before country regardess of policy, such as the new Republicans that have completely ignored this epic invasion of our country by literally million of people that are entering our country illegally. Years ago the Republican party would have never put up with this crisis and would have been the most outspoken group in the courtry. Now? They not only ignore it, many aid and abet this titanic nationwide lawlessness.

That hyperbole is so blasé and passe.

Hyperbole? Passe? We have millions entering our country from God knows where and you call this passe? Thanks for proving my point Mr. Neocon. Hehehe

Hey, CJ keep using those leftist terms, "hyperbole and passe". It fits you like a well worn glove.

'‘Conservative’ Imperialists Head Bush Administration'... A new form of “conservative imperialism” with roots in the ranks of an elite group of “former” Trotskyite leftists is emerging as a major force among top-level policy makers in the Bush administration. Twenty years ago,I would have been considered an extreme leftists? You mean when I was working on Reagan's election team, contributing money to Reagan's campaigns, and voting for him...that me,twenty years ago? The me,who NEVER voted for a Dem...that me?The me,who not only isn't Jewish, was NEVER a Trotskyite nor Stalinist, but instead, has been a life long rabid anti-Communist...that me?Or is it the newer me,who repeatedly said, right here, that the "Compassionate Conservative" line was stupid, meaningless, and silly...that me?Perchance you meant the me,who thinks that the NEW WORLD ORDER tinfoilers need immediate mental help...that me?

Joe,just because you like calling and apple and egg, doesn't make it so. ;^)

Needless to say, as long as there is life there is hope, but what hope does an aborted child have?

That's a nice retort, but have you adopted any kids with severe disabilities? There are relatively few angels in this world. The kid could easily wind up abandoned and abused in an institution. What's a doctor in that situation supposed to do, keep the patient ignorant and be justly sued. What about doctor's obligation to his or her own family?

I know that liberals are big on hopelessness and the passing of judgments upon human worth and value.

Nice trick, but I'm no liberal and you conveniently ignored the rest of my question which I repeat.

What's a doctor in that situation supposed to do, keep the patient ignorant and be justly sued. What about doctor's obligation to his or her own family?

You also failed to answer my question about whether you have adopted any children with severe disabilities. I'm definitely not an abortionist or pro-abortion. The issue should have remained with the states.

I don't like the neocons because their agenda is dangerous leftist inspired drivel presented in a new manner.

What is their agenda? When Dubya took office it was with a noted reluctance to "nation building." Then about nine months after he took his oath something happened which changed things and the "nation building" in Iraq & Afghanistan is part of a strategy that makes sense.

We are at war with those who use terror -- attacking those at peace with them -- to achieve a political goal i.e militant Islam, and it's really best for our agenda to leave that adjective in.

Now it is a given we are going to screw up in this war on terror, just as we did in WWII, just as we did in the Cold War. As long as we stay focused on our objective, however, we will win.

Frankly, I don't think Dubya has made that many screw ups.

If Chalabi was really as connected as some imply, he would not have been exposed in the way he was. Also, it looks like we got a whole lot of intellgence out of that raid.

This could turn out to be a benefit.

The politician in Reagan may have praised FDR, but in his approach to the office, he tried to move in the opposite direction, i.e. back towards the traditional limitations on Federal power and social reliance on individual responsibility. He certainly did not bring the hordes of Marxist Professors into the bureaucracy, either. Nor, for that matter, did he coddle Russian Communism.

As for the present neo-con idea that we have a major role in trying to change the near and middle easts, one should contrast the way Reagan withdrew from Lebanon, which he had hoped to stabalize as a humanitarian act. (For those who do not know very much about the Near East, Lebanon was the one land where we had long had a minor, yet significant public presence, in the American University in Beirut.) When it became obvious that our presence was simply stirring the fires, Reagan had the statesmanship to pull the Marines out. He knew when to hang tough and when to recognize a mistake. The neo-cons are not only ignorant of the profound differences between peoples, but about when to "hold them and when to fold them."

As for a correct definition of the latter? How can anyone claim exclusive right to such a term? Basically, those claiming that term are not even the only phony Conservatives, who since Reagan's 1980 triumph have tried to suck onto the Conservative ground swell which Reagan achieved.

Joe, I would agree that the same phoney types who call themselves neo-cons are all you say, but I would give them a much nastier label than "neo-conservative." That plays into their hands. They are either the lowest swine imaginable; people who pretend to be patriots, but will not defend their own people in their own land; or they are too stupid to be accorded even a shred of intellectual respect, if they cannot understand the simple reality that who inhabits a land determines the character of its society and civilization.

As for anyone who puts party before country? There are no words to adequately describe what I really think of such as they. I will only refer you to what George Washington had to say on the subject, 208 years ago: Farewell Address. The same address also will tell you what he thought of those who played favorites or displayed antagonism towards specific foreign lands, where American interests did not require such picking and choosing.
