[history]
We usually think of Bill Cosby as the jolly, Jell-O-pitching, Cliff Huxtable father figure who never gets agitated about much. But, even the jolly Jell-O Man feels the need sometimes to liberate his inner grouch.
One such moment occurred as he was being honored at a black-tie bash in Washington's Constitution Hall commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision.

Just as a broken clock is correct twice a day, Page gets a number of points right in this article. Nonetheless, he has to bash Bush and conservative radio personalities, give a big thumbs up to Mfume and most amazingly, gives the hip-hoppers credit for bringing about the environment where Cosby can speak freely. As usual, you have to wade through a bunch of chaff to get to the wheat. I find Page wrong about 90 percent of the time and tedious to read when he does get a point correct.

Instead of candidness in our public self-appraisals, BPC tells us to sound like President Bush does on Iraq: If we've made any mistakes, we can't remember what they are. Cheap shot and not the truth. Besides hasn't BPC been around a lot longer than GWB?

BUMP, I noticed the same thing when I read this online. I almost posted this article myself and then I reconsidered.

Right-wing ideologues pretend self-reliance liberalism does not exist.
Left-wingers would prefer that it not exist. Their power derives from reliance on the state, not one's self.

As much as I admire Cosby for this outburst...I will NEVER forget Bill Cosby while working at Harrahs Lake Tahoe in 66, came over to where I, as a teen, worked at Sahara Tahoe.
Cosby came in the door of the Sahara, took two steps inside, and said "Damn! there ain't nothin but White folk in here!".
He scowled and left with his white entourage...
