The problem I have with these types of arguments is that Christians are called to preach the Gospels and to covert non-believers and have been doing so for 2000 years.

That statement is what is normally referred to as a Red Herring.

Almost record size, I'd say.

I suspect that these loudspeakers will be "rendered inoperable" very frequently.

1) I HATE ISLAM. Intolerant? Damn Right. When they tolerate other religions, other religions will tolerate them. It's a 2-way street and the muslims want both lanes.

2) I don't give a rat's behind what religion it is. Broadcasting ANYTHING that loud at 6AM is going to piss me off.

Amendment I - Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The above amendment does not say anything about 'Freedom of Religion'. It says CONGRESS shall make no law....

And I also want to know, are you following the pedophile Mo and is blood-thirsty cult?

Perverse pleasure is your thing, then? That explains a lot.

It's just nice to see the old saying "what comes around, goes around" is still true.

Normally I like harmony over conflict, but sometimes a little conflict is good to wake people up. OTOH, Christians probably won't learn the lesson that in-your-face religion is not fun for the other side, so this conflict is probably pointless.

The big difference, which negates the "hypocrisy", is that in recent centuries throughout the civilized world Christians have stopped converting by the sword.

The same cannot currently be said about Islam.

And lastly, most Christians follw the new testament, verus the old "Fire and Brimstone" of the Old...

Nice try, though.

You quote conveniently from the Old Testament, such behavior by Christians is surely not sanctioned in the New Testament.

Speaking of congress (government) "making no law"...it's interesting that it is a local government who has endorsed this very, vocal proselytizing.

I have a question, and maybe you can answer it:

Someone invited me to church the other day. Should I:

A. Politely say "No Thank you. It was nice of you to ask, though.
B. Kick his ass for being so in my face and intolerant.
C. Tell him "Enjoy it while you can, heathen, because soon you will be decapitated by Islamofascists."

Thanks in advance.

Agreed. When churchbells ring in Saudi Arabia, we can 'consider' letting the murderous thugs broadcast their message of hatred in the Land of the Free.

How stupid are we?

I don't know about "us" but I'm more than willing to nominate your post for Ignorant Religious Post of the Day.

Hoping you'll be last last to go. Or perhaps, you've already submitted.

Being an atheist, I'd be the first to go.

But you need to learn to put "submission" into proper context. The definition of Islam as "submission" means submission of one's self to God/Allah's will (like James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God."), not to the Muslim religion.

Of course they believe the only way to follow God's will is to be a Muslim, but then Christians believe they have the monopoly on the One True Religion™ too.

I'm an agnostic and even I know you're being either disingenuous or ignorant:  the calls for the Jews to wage war were not calls for them to take over the planet but rather, to cleanse the land "promised to them" and to protect their borders against hostile tribes.

Even more, it's been thousands of years since the Jews have "marked" a populace.

You should probably be a Christian or a Jew who understands the Bible, before trying to use it in an argument....otherwise you simply look foolish.

I do have a solid understanding of islam, but I'm not Christian either.

What I said stands, and I really wish fr had an ignore user option so I didn't have to see you supporting the tool of our own destruction.

I've lived in this "mostly" Christian country all my life...and I've never felt like Christians are shoving their religion in my face.

It depends on where you are and how activist the locals are. Right now I live in a highly religious area, but instances are rare. Other places were a bit more interesting.
