Carter on Reagan: did he or didn't he?

Posted on 06/06/2004 8:07:06 PM PDT by solitas

Two different stories: http://www.accessnorthga.com/news/ap_newfullstory.asp?ID=39628 and http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/6/6/214712.shtml

Which way to believe?

Whats the argument? The only thing different between the articles really is the title.

Which way to believe?

There's no contradiction. Both stories report that Carter had no official statement to make, but he made a few informal comments about Reagan nonetheless.

The only difference is which was emphasized in the headline.

I guess it depends on what the meaning of "a formal comment" is. And also whether or not he made his comments after being asked or did he make the comments without being asked. Who knows why RATS can't just speak plainly.

If Carter takes a page from Kerry's playbook, he did before he didn't.

Bah...with few exceptions, the only condolences we're going to see from the Left side are those smarmy saccharine-sweet blobs of sap that they could issue for someone's dead parakeet.

Reagan deserves better. That's why I'm not paying any mind to the eulogies made by the Leftists.

He made no official statement. He commented, in an unofficial capacity, when asked about Reagan's death by reporters. What's the question?

Here's Jim-mah's question:

"We go through ups and downs," he said. "I was distressed when we lost (to Reagan). But I think it's important to ask, 'What am I in the eyes of Jesus Christ?'"

Here's my answer:

A hell-bound son of perdition.

I see what happened. He said he wouldn't answer questions AFTER the service. But he did answer at least one question BEFORE the service. RATS are weird like that.

Carter begged the Soviets for help in eliminating Reagan - it is open source now and you can find it on the net.

Now you know WHY carter can't say anything - he has no right to live in the USA.

Come one. Carter is a leftist and power hungry, but he is a Christian, and unless you know him and have irrefutable proof that he is a "hellbound son of perdition", then you ought not to talk that way.

I think political/social liberalism is a contradiction with Christian ethic, but one can be forgiven and be wrong.

At the press conference earlier today, the Reagan family spokesperson listed the names of every current and former living president as having sent condolences except Carter!

Think what you wish, but anybody like Carter that lies, advances the ideologies he does and hides beneath the robe of Christ is fairly open to judgement - even by the blind.

By their fruits you shall know them. I think it is fair to say that Jim-mah is fruity enough to know what he is all about.

Did you follow his exodus from the Southern Babtist church - and why?

I think a better question is....Why won't he release a formal statement like every other normal person on the planet in his position would do?

He piddled out several things he could have put into a statement. This was actually fine....

"It was a very sobering day for the country to lose a former president," Carter said. "I want to express my admiration for him and his wife and associate myself with the grief that America feels."

What's his problem???

Who cares?

Carter was a moral weakling that did not view our system of individual Freedom as superior to the totalitarianism of the Soviet Union.

Carter isn't fit to be mentioned in the same sentence as Reagan.

Jimmy is a friend to terrorists and despots. Sure, he's built some houses for the poor... but he left many more in chains when he had a chance to do something about it.

Jimmy Carter is a hypocrite and will go down in history as the most feckless, dangerous and incompetent chief executives in our nation's history. But that's just MY judgment.

We all have to face a higher power, eh, Jimmy? Maybe you, Castro and Arafat can arrange to have your hearings at the same time.

""He presented some very concise, very clear messages that appealed to the American people," Carter said."

Of course, Carter and the rest of the leftists still think that those concise clear messages were lies that appealed to the worst in simple-minded American boobs, but he can't say that in so many words, so he just implies it.
