curtsey's and slowly walks away escorted by Senator Frist...

The last time I saw a woman curtsey was in grade school in the 50s.

"I think we X-ers and our kids are going to really be something when it's all said and done."

You may have something there Mr. S. My older children were tail-end Boomers and my youngest is a front-end Gen-Xer. The difference is night and day. The Gen-Xer is a gem. The other two.....I'm glad they live to far away to visit much.

I meant it in the more general sense. Each generation has a role in the future. "It" is not about us, not about any generation. Our duty is to our progeny. We preserve freedom for them.

Just got back from the capital in DC. A huge crowd, it just seemed to keep growing and growing.

Actually being there is a lot different than watching on TV.

We saw two service people lining the route faint straight out. After that they started giving the service people water.

Okay, who's the...person on CNN arguing that Reagan didn't win the Cold War?

Some poorly educated cretin who should crawl back in the hole from whence he or she came.

President Reagan succeeded by doing the courageous rather than the p.c. thing, Thank the Lord Jesus Christ!

But he was a very sensitive man. I don't recall Reagan ever using "Jesus Christ" in public.

Actually tv broadcasting or should I say narrowcasting began in the late 1930s in NYC. There were only about 200 tv sets then but there were tv programs being shown. The coming of the second world war shut it down and it didn't resume until after the war. The process of inventing tv began in the 1920s in numerous places and continued to develop until there was a nascent tv setup in NYC in the late 1930s.

O'Reilly is a pompous, arrogant, condescending, self-important blowhard. I really don't know what people see in him.

Did you hear Nancy Garrett (sp?), of the Wash. Post tell Brit Hume on Fox earlier that the thousands of people lining the route of the caisson earlier were there because it was historical?"

MSNBC had a reporter stopping and asking people why they were there. All said out of love for the President. And the last one, a lady said she not only loved Reagan, but that she used to be a democrat.

The reporter immediately stopped interviewing people in line, and went into a completely different line of reporting. I think he even did a John Belushi - "hey look, ab baby wolf!"
