The reason the Democrats hated it was that it was part of the process that helped bring about a free Nicaragua, in an election which made tham all look like fools for having sided with Castro's pet, Daniel Ortega.
Yeah I know. Like defeating that communist dictator was a bad thing. I'll bet the people of Nicaragua don't fault the Reagan administration for Iran-Contra.
