Fox News had originally reported that a Muslim imam was scheduled to speak. Did I miss him?
One marched in the initial procession, but if he spoke I missed him.

Will somebody please tell the organist to stop hitting the keys by accident...that's twice now...

That noise didn't sound like any organ notes...and I should know! ;)

This is a rather mournful recessional they're playing now, isn't it?! But fitting...solemn...anyone know what it is? I't got the occasional Copland-sounding open fifth that just sounds major and hopeful...now I can't watch them crying so maybe I'll just keep typing...oh dear...

Hey, I like ALF...wish they would put in on DVD.

But, that is off topic.

The music has just been such that it could make your knees buckle while walking.....powerful stuff

We also have to remember that President Reagan was 69 when elected to the presidency. His life experiences were entirely different than our dear President Bush. I think the depression and WWII defined people in ways that we cannot even begin to imagine. President Reagan's life was shaped dramatically as no president's has been. I think Nancy was right when they said they broke the "mold" with her Ronnie.

Then it should have been stated up front and should have been called a Memorial Thread.

We have had other threads for tragic events and no one thought we should stop making rather catty remarks about various people involved in the tragic event.

My suggestions would be in the future to have two threads, if that's okay with Jim. One thread would be for non-catty remarks - no negative remarks allowed at all. The other thread we will be free to speak about what we see and hear. It's obviously the only way to satisfy everyone.

I must say I have spent more time passing by threads where people are complaining (including mine) abuot what this thread is about that by the actual catty remarks themselves.

Amazing the power of music. When they turned the casket was the first time that I have lost it. And ever since, as the procession proceeds, I sense that this is it, "Goodbye Mr. Reagan." And then to see Michael Reagan with his hand on his heart, broken up, it is so very, very sad.

This is an amazing song..."Mansions of the Lord". Get the CD to "We were Soldiers" it is the last song on the CD.

You will play it over and over as tears stream down your face!
