You know I have thought about the use of kids this way. This is serious business not picking a cult of personality. I think the kids and wives don't belong in big roles at conventions. I think it is hokey, unserious and ridiculous. All those kids at the kerry convention totally turned me off. The only kid anyone wants to see is Caroline Kennedy just because she is mysterious. I think the first family ought to be mysterious. They are not the candidate.

The covention is what... four days... I just don't see Laura or the twins up there speaking about themselves but about the character of the man who is in office. What's wrong with giving them a few minutes to tell us something about him?
Of course,,,but I think he lied about closing firehouses and that would be nice. Sort of like Clinton's imaginary church burnings, Gore's being the subject of Love Story. It would link him with lying dems.
The flags the dems waved and metaphorically wrapped themselves in at the convention were left on the convntion center floor. (per Carl Cameron) Says it all about their patriotism

Yep, he said " firehouses were being closed here and built in Baghdad" and the crowd responded with a roar, sort of like my kids used to respond if one got a bigger piece of pie. It was the most ungenerous, niggardly, stingy moment of his speech,,somehow pitting our desire for a firehouse on every corner with those desperate people needing infrastructure to deal with the daily bombings. It made me ashamed.

Zell was good on MTP - I wish Timmy had given him the entire hour. His will be a powerful voice at the GOP convention. Could not abide watching Biden, KEdwards or the rest of them on the other shows.
