Second Column on the right lists a number of Houston ranges. My guess is that if you were to call any of them they'd be happy to tell you if there were any close to campus.
Just curious, and with no agenda implied..but what do you mean by "woman friendly?"..I thought businesses woudl encourage as many folks as possible to patronize them, and NOT discourage 50 of their potential market?
I'm not familiar with that area but just about any range is "woman friendly". They are also "Asian friendly", "atheist friendly", "carnivore friendly", "cat owner friendly", etc.
Do have some kind of specific concerns or experiences? Shooting is a very focused kind activity, no one will pay any attention to you unless you forget the rules or do something dangerous.
If you are looking for women in your area that shoot and support the 2nd amendment, look up the Second Amendment Sisters. There are many chapters and they will help learn to shoot, if that's what you want.
Out of curiosity, what in your opinion, makes a shooting range woman friendly? I'm asking, because I've never seen one that I'd say was unfriendly to women. Hell, I've never seen one where gender played even the slightest role.
Top Gun, while not in walking distance from UH, is supposed to be fairly "gal friendly." It's my ex girlfriend's favorite range.
I prefer to shoot at American Shooting Center. You can catch me there pretty much any weekend.
We go to American Shooting Center on the west side of town (16500 Westheimer). It's not what I would call "woman-friendly," because I don't know what the hell that means, but they're always as nice to me as they are to Xena's Guy.
Living in a country where even the police don't carry firearms...I'd LOVE to get a chance to go to a gun range.
Only time I ever held a firearm was on my uncles farm.
I'd just LOVE to try it, in a controlled environment.
