My sympathies to my liberal Democratic Kerry-voting listeners. You must be scratching your heads this morning over some of The Poodle's latest blatherings.
A few days ago President Bush announced a major redeployment of American troops overseas. Bush said that troops would be withdrawn from both Europe and South Korea. Kerry, of course, being the expert that he is on defense matters and fighting in actual wars and carrying actual guns and all that, had to oppose the President's plans. So The Poodle steps in front of a VFW convention yesterday and delivers this line:
"Why are we withdrawing (he actually said 'withdrawring') unilaterally 12,000 troops from the Korean peninsula at the very time that we are negotiating with North Korea, a country that really has nuclear weapons. This is clearly the wrong signal to send at the wrong time." John Kerry, August 18, 2004
Well .. that would have been just fine, if it hadn't been for pesky things such as memories. Just 17 days earlier Kerry had something completely different to say about troop redeployment:
"I will have significant, enormous reductions in the level of troops ...In the Korean peninsula perhaps, in Europe perhaps." John Kerry, August 1, 2004
Man ... don't you just hate it when that happens?
And how many times did Kerry remind the VFW convention of his service in Vietnam? Sorry, we lost count.
In his next Flop, the Poodle will accuse Bush of taking his leadership cues from him.
Don't count on it. I doubt the media will point out this "minor" misspeak. Nothing to see here, folks, move on to another subject...
He said because he hated Bush.
I told him the Republicans tried that in 1996 and the votes didn't add up.

I tried thaton another college message board and I get anybody but Bush. And these people have Masters, you would think they could stretch it out a bit.

Ask those solid dems if they care so little for the security of our country and the safety of our troops.....
Despite how much crap we see Kerry can still win. The media wmay win the for Kerry.
Kerry can't win unless we sit back and complain.......we must speak up at every opportunity. I always mention how much I love America and how proud I am to live in this great country.

Well the attention needs to be brought to the news agencies.
Today was haircut day. I have known my beautician for over 30 years. She is someone who votes Republican and assumes everyone will do their job and she doesn't have to be involved.
After 9/11 she began watching FNC. She knows my politics, of course and she gleefully informed me today that Kerry had contradicted himself at the VFW convention.
If this woman is aware of Kerry's gaffe, everyone is aware of Kerry's gaffe.
I disagree. My parents watch ABC news and will never be aware.
