No longer is the nation divided into "red" and "blue" states. The line is now more hip: retro vs. metro -- and it extends to people, ideas and, of course, politicians.
Mel Gibson, Newt Gingrich and oil wells are "retro", according to a series of advertisements that began appearing Thursday in The Washington Post and The New York Times.
The ads -- short on words and big on pictures -- position Gibson, et al., against their "metro" counterparts: Michael Moore, Hillary Rodham Clinton and wind mills.
And although they don't say it, the ads are to stir up curiosity surrounding the Aug. 24 release of the book, "The Great Divide: Retro vs. Metro America," by billionaire and University of Phoenix founder John Sperling.
The book, subtitled "Atlas of a Divided Nation and Blueprint for Reuniting America," promises to show a new way of looking at the nation's political divisions with maps, charts and photographs.
A visit to the book's Web site shows more juxtapositions, including a metro John F. Kerry, the Democratic presidential candidate and a retro President Bush. Other metro versus retro matchups include:
--Al Franken and Bill O'Reilly.
--The Dixie Chicks and Hank Williams Jr.
--California and Alabama.
--Smarter kids and smarter bombs.
The link (without title or explanation) is also being posted to some Kerry blogs. That, and the info in the previous comment is all I've found in the search so far. By the way, the previous comment was only an excerpt--part of an anti-Republican piece.

No. You misunderstood me. Domains by Proxy is a SERVICE which allows anyone who subscribes to hide the identity of the actual ownership of a web domain. They don't "create" anything.
