The AWB created Conservative Wimps
Self | 9/3/04 | Self

Not long ago I saw a thread here on FR asking "How the AWB effected you?". Needless to say, the AWB had its effects, it removed freedom. For some it gave them an excuse to lash out against President Bush, because of doubt that the law would be allowed to expire. Bush never took action to renew the AWB, but that didn't matter to the former pichforks (still ranting and raving) who never met a fellow conservative they liked(except for Patrick).

I saw grown men, some self-proclaimed tough guys talking of fear for purchasing a Hi-Cap Mag. I saw the flames of the famous freepers complaining that they had to pay hundreds of dollars for a Hi-Cap Mag when many other posters found some for $20 Bucks!! But those Mags weren't "legal", those Mags gave the anti-Bush conservatives something to scream about, it went on and on. Being a Bush supporter, I knew the ban would be lifted, I still feel it will. When Sept. 14, 2004 comes around I wonder what those tough guys will find next, I wonder what new explosive anti-Bush issue they'll reach for.

Lets see how tough some Pro-Second Amendment freepers are. If you lived in Boston during 1775, would you buy the King's tea, or Madison's tea? The Kings tea was legal.

I saw the same men who promise to protect freedom, vote from the roof tops if the country fell as we know it, using terms like, "lock and load", "keep your powder dry", and "From My Cold Dead Hands". They proclamed bravery in the face of an out-of-control Government, or an invasion by the Blue Helmets of the UN. But when it came to owning a Hi-Cap Mag....Boo woo they cried, rather than disobey. When it came to ASKING for a CCW, they made sure they did, allowing their masters (the Government)to decide if they'll be allowed to protect their life or their family's lives.

Talk is cheap. We see it all the time on FR.

I WILL NOT ask my county gun board for PERMISSION to carry a firearm for self protection. Its a RIGHT. Just like free speech, and I never asked for permission to write this post either! What if the gun board masters say "NO!"?? If you're an all talk type of freeper, maybe you could blame Bush, if you're a real American, real Conservative, you WILL ignore any law that removes your rights or any law that itself is illegal. (Have your own tea party!)

I never allowed the AWB to prevent me from owning Hi-Cap Mags (even a 100 round drum), flash hindering devices, bayonets (attatched or not) or any firearm that looks, weighs, or functions in a matter set forth by the AWB making the firearm illegal.

WHY? It IS our Duty to disregard, and ignore ANY LAW that violates our Rights.

If a law was created to ask permission to read a newspaper, I wonder how many tough talkers would comply. I wonder how fast they'd come on here to FR and blame the Conservatives they don't like.

I wonder why during the AWB so many RKBAer's decided to buy and drink the King's tea rather than James Madison's blackmarket's best.

I learned a lesson.....many say they'll fight for freedom, only a few have always been ready (or armed well enough) to do so.

Ok, flame away. This is a new name for me. I've been a Freeper since 1998, I never comment or post much at all. I don't feel the need to repeat someones comments and I save my ammo for post like these.

"From My Cold Dead Hands" I mean it!

As long as the AWB dies, with nothing more onerous to replace it immediately, then Bush gets my vote. I've been saying it for months.

The 2A, Iraq/Terrorism, and taxes are my three main issues. While Badnarik is a better fit on two of those, Bush has the Ace card with what he is doing to the terrorists.

The law, stupid and wrong and unconstitutional as it was, never outlawed owning full-cap mags or weapons with flash suppressors and such. So continuing to own them wasn't illegal, nor was buying them used.

I'm sure glad you're here now, and born when you were, rather than being born to have stood in Concord during an April morning in 1776.

But then, you would have moved to Canada....

You are an anarchist.

Not necessarily. Is a law that violates the mandate that GAVE the government the power to make laws a legal law? I would submit that it does not. Even the Founders agree on that point. Why bother having a Constitution if the FedGov can ignore the plain meaning of the text at will?

I don't feel like complying with unconstitutional gun laws any more than you do. I don't want to be a felon though. Luckily I live in a state (GA) where it is easy to get a carry permit and gun laws generally favor The People. If I lived in MA, NY or CA I would either move or take my chances disobeying the law.

Bears repeating. All us gunnuts have known that for ten years. The ninnyhammer that wrote this silly screed seems unaware ... which makes me wonder ...

"I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6" applies here.

Post #6 was the perfect answer to your vanity question on that thread.
