President Bush continued his bus tour of Missouri today with appearances at Lee’s Summit High School, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, a stop at a business in Warrensburg, then on to the Missouri State Fair Coliseum in Sedalia for an “Ask the President” event, after having appeared before a crowd of 30,000 cheering supporters in Poplar Bluff last evening. The President is scheduled to travel through Missouri by bus for the rest of the day and return to the White House this evening.

It’s a GOOD time to be a Bushbot! Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!

Ping: calling a thread to the attention of friends or people you know would be interested. Some people keep a list of names of people who they "ping" to a thread each day. All those names go in the "TO" box. I get pinged to the Finest and the USO threads every day by friends. The pings show up highlighted at the top of your screen as "Posts to you".

***G'day oz! Is it spring yet? We are just coming into early signs of fall. It's an upside down world eh?***

It certainly is an upside down world; but also an amazing one! We are just starting spring now; flowers blooming and hayfever rising! It's my favourite time of the year as I am now well and truly over winter. I feel for those of you who have to endure a long cold winter...

I'm back for a little bit.
Had a great dinner. Italian beef and green beans.
I just love hearing that I'm a good cook :-)
What an ego trip for a young gal like me...

Just read transcript of a town hall question and answer session the Cheneys did today and the following was his response to a question on the economy.

Quote
=====
QUESTION:
My question is, last week, the U.S. Department of Labor announced that a 144,000 new jobs were created, which to me is a step in the right direction. But at the same time, Senator Kerry has put these ads out saying that we have the worst economy since the Great Depression, basically. And I just wanted to know how you respond to that, and why he is basically trying to come out and mislead the United States on this issue?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, I obviously, disagree with him. I think to say this is the worst economy since the Great Depression -- I'm trying to think of how I can appropriately -- (Laughter.) Lynne says he's been too busy windsurfing. (Laughter and applause.)

He then went on to answer the question properly

There's no question we got work to do on the economy. We always do. There's always more that we can do to improve the quality of life, to improve opportunities for people, to improve our educational system so that our kids can take advantage of our economy when they finally do get out of school, so we can train people to be able to fill those jobs that are being created. But to suggest that this is the worst economy since the Great Depression, I didn't live through the Depression. I was born in 1941. But my parents did. And I've got to tell you, I just -- I think that's rhetoric that's over the top. I don't buy it. I don't think most people do. (Applause.)

Hello there!
Just noticed that I don't think I've seen you around before!

Now we've been introduced I suppose...as long as you like GWB as much as I do, I'm sure we'll get along (LOL)!

That IS a great pic!
kerry would look like a drown rat if he stood out in the rain. Which he wouldn't, unless he had a butler holding his umbrella over him!

Great Jog and great pictures, OhioWfan. I sense a great amount of momentum on this "Bush Train":

Now I’ve been happy lately,
thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be,
something good has begun

Oh I’ve been smiling lately,
dreaming about bin Laden dead,
And I believe it could be,
some day it’s going to come

'Cause out on the edge of Ohio,
there rides a Bush train
Oh Bush train take this country,
come take W home again

Now I’ve been smiling lately,
thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be,
FOUR MORE YEARS has begun

Oh Bush train sounding louder
Ride on the Bush train
Come on now Bush train

Yes, Bush is steadfast warrior
Everyone jump upon the Bush train

Come on now Swiftboat Veterans
Get your bags together,
go bring your good friends too
Cause it’s getting nearer,
it calls to Democrats too

Now come and join the thinking,
it’s not so hard to do,
November's getting nearer,
soon it will all be true

Now I’ve been angry lately,
thinking about the liberal Left
Why must we go on hating,
why can’t Dems tell the truth

Cause out on the edge of darkness,
there rides a Bush train
Oh Bush train take this country,
come take W home again!

I basically roast beef in Italian herbs and sauces.
It's sort of spicy but very good! And healthy, too.
My honey likes it, so I make it fairly often.
It's something I sort of created (and I'll admit it's easy to make but it tastes like it takes effort!).

Welcome!
I'm pretty new myself, and I'm glad I jumped in when I did.
With the anniversary of 9/11 and the election coming up, it's good to have a sane place to visit!
And I tell everyone this-Bush smells good!

hi snugs! Great post - VP Cheney is such a good man and he sure does have that tounge-in-cheek humour which is very appealing.
