May she rest in peace.
Noone is indeed alive and may be making a concert stop near you.
Saw him recently and he gives an outstanding show. He gave a wonderful tribute to "Skeetah Davis" as part of his concert.
Sad, I loved "The End of the World". RIP, Skeeter.
I was in high school when that was #1. I feel really, really old just now.
Tom Jones is still singing "What's New Pussycat" somewhere on the music palace circuit.
ping!
The obituary doesn't say it but I'll add it: Skeeter was once married to "Nashville Now" host Ralph Emery and was married to NRBQ's Joey Spampinato.
About a year ago (maybe two years ago), I was driving home from work, listening to talk radio. Jay Diamond was filling in that evening on WABC, New York. I turned on Jay's program in the middle of an interview he was doing with a minister who claimed to be possessed by the spirit of Tom Jones. Needless to say, I thought this was very strange, especially since Tom Jones is still alive. Jay asked him to attempt an exorcism over the air. The man began shouting "OUT, SATAN, OUT! BEGONE, SATAN, BEGONE! Then he was apparently overtaken by the spirit of Tom Jones, breaking into a rendition of "It's Not Unusual" in the middle of his exorcism.
If you are familiar with Jay Diamond, you know it's not the type of interview that he usually does. Very strange!
