Well observed. Many of the best conservatives were initially liberals, particularly in the sense of having compassion for the oppressed - and then finding that their marching companions wanted to install themselves as the oppresssors.

Carter was the biggest wuss the whitehouse has ever seen. He had command of an immense military machine but he couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag. The world didn't respect him then and nobody respects him now.

I watched a small part of his comments. He was ranting about GW and the way the 2000 ush campaign treated McCain and Cleland, who, he said, lost his limbs "in combat."
