Cool. No worries, you just caught me at a, well, good time 'cause I just spanked all their arses
At the SAME TIME
and with half my brain tied behind my back.
To: Cboldt
Yes, I'm funning' with you now because your arguments have been reduced to absolute absurdity and it's too hilarious to ignore. You absolutely CANNOT admit you're wrong on ANYTHING. You just keep setting YOURSELF up for it.

Uhhh, look at your units. Delusional and circular. Radio Shack, black helicopter crowd. See my previuos posts.

Dude, you guys are doing the equivalent of standing in front of a freight train roaring toward you and denying it exists. Yes, it IS hilarious.

GOOD POST !!! I was going to post some info on it, but you beat me to it.
FAS is reputable. Jane's is good. Periscope is another, good 'un.
Laser and other directed energy weapons are here to stay. Does anyone remember that little test where we knocked an artillery shell out of the sky?? heheheh Looks like some FREEpers are about 20-30 years behind on their military technology studies. PAC3 may have to step aside for some new goodies....
I bet in 10 or 20 years, someone will discover the "breaking news" of the anti-sniper (detection) equipment already being made (and deployed overseas) by a company in Cambridge, MASS (BBN)...... I hear there will be all types of UAVs soon (yawn)... hehehehe
We can knock artillery shells out of the sky, piece of cake, BUT.. "It's all fun and games 'til someone loses an eye!!"
Once again, good post.

Interesting aside, my radar detector goes off whenever I pass by a large airport. Not for radar, but the laser detector alarm.

You lose again
ROTFLMAO...and...ROTFLMAO. That's all I can muster anymore...
To: DB
Yea, like 'sited' for cited. But you seem to do that in every post. But I'll play nice :-)
To: demsux
Interesting. That's the first I've heard of something like that but it doesn't surprise me.

You dig yourself deeper...
An attenuation factor of 0 is the ideal condition, not 1. Hence it is attenuation. Zero is the lowest possible attenuation.
The attenuation factor is tied to the unit length.
If the attenuation factor were in meter units, then you would calculated the overall attenuation on meter unit distances.
The referenced paper is using km units for the attenuation factor shown. Easily proven by calculating the 0.1 factor stated in reverse.
You've made a fool of yourself in public... Again...

Greta Van Susteren reported that a Delta pilot enroute to Salt Lake City was lazed in the cockpit this last Wednesday. Only country I know that has that hardware (for lazing bomber pilots) was the Soviet Union. We built a similar system.

Oh really. Then who posted that 1 was "clear air"?
Circular and delusional. Read my previous posts.
Yea, I'm digging myself deeper and I'm such a big fool and I float. Whatever.
To: abner
The Soviets did this during the Clinton years and Clinton just ignored it.???????

Absolutely. In fact, you're the only one that gets the point here, apparently. Notice in my previous posts (do a search) that I did not initially claim your position was wrong. THATs why this is so funny. You guys are running on EGO. I said it SEEMED as if the attenuation HAD to be greater than you claimed, but I pointed out that I could be wrong. But some of you guys just HAD to throw your ego into this. THAT's what I'm making fun of there. You can concede points about the atmosphere without destroying your central argument, but your ego won't let you. So, YES, I can be wrong and MAY be wrong in my PERCEPTION about attenuation. I'm just not convinced of your position yet. As for the equation, I'm wondering about the alpha and how we would know what number to use in a 'normal' condition. But I digress.
To: ableChair
You're the only one I saw posting 1 was for clear air.
And it isn't.

It may be beyond a year ago, I come across so much material on this stuff. It COULD be the Russian "freighter" incident that other Freepers noted.
With so much attention being paid to WMD, WLD (what I call Weapons of Lesser Destruction) are not given the scrutiny they should. If I dig up the original article, I'll pass it along.
I think it was on www.military.com, but again, in this case I'm not sure of the source or even the exact date (my bad). This stuff gets to be one constant blur after awhile
