..'SANCHEZ's spouse seeks divorce'..

Rep. LORETTA SANCHEZ is being sued for divorce by her husband of 14 years, securities broker STEPHEN BRIXEY, who cited "irreconcilable differences" in court filings.
BRIXEY, 42, filed for divorce in San Diego in January, but word of the proceedings has been kept quiet even among some of those closed to the Democratic Santa Ana congresswoman.
In response to a press inquiry, her office issued a statement Tuesday.
"LORETTA and STEPHEN have reaced an amicable resolution on all matters surrounding this step," it said. "They remain close friends and their divorce will become final shortly." Calls to BRIXEY's attorney were not returned.
SANCHEZ, 44, shot to fame in 1996 after reverting from her married name to her maiden name and upsetting incumbent Republican ROBERT K. DORNAN in the heavily Latino central part of the country. She steadily has gained influence in Washington and helped her sister, LINDA SANCHEZ, win a Los Angeles congressional seat in 2002.
SANCHEZ is being challenged this year by Republican ALEXANDRIA CORONADO, a member of the Orange County Board of Education, considered a long shot because of Democrats'strong advantage in the district's voter registration.
Sandra Sutphen, a political science professor retired from Cal State Fullerton, said news of the divorce is unlikely to influence the election's outcome.
"Thirty-five years ago, divorce was a big deal, but times have changed," Sutphen said.
...Court filings, which gave no description of specific problems, said the couple have been separated since Dec. 30. It also noted that BRIXEY had been living in San Diego County for at least three months before the Jan. 15 filing. BRIXEY and SANCHEZ appeared together on her holiday greeting card in December.

Well, considering that Illinois Sen. candidate Jack Ryan's divorce papers were opened to the public, let's have Ms. "Sanchez" open up her divorce records.
This is the lady who had some connection to Gary Condit. Rented him the condo in D. C. or something like that.

but when I look at it logically...if Rudy were up against say ummm Hiillary i.e. the biggest threat to your and my rights ever, then you bet your @$$ I am voting for Rudy....as we know Rudy wont have the Congress go with him on a gun ban or anything similar....

she had to rent an apt. in the district and left hubby & kids in L.A.
She dropped her married name to patronize the Hispanic vote in the district...
I bet that made her soon-to-be ex-husband feel reeeeel good!!!
