I believe the correct response would be whether government programs do more to help the poor than hurt them. A prime example is how welfare policies destroyed the inner city black family, something that even slavery failed to do. Do you honestly think that such are in keeping with the Scriptural commands to care for the poor?

Which party is God most likely to affiliate Himself with?....Not too difficult to figure out...

I thought it was us who were to affiliate ourselves with God, not God who is to chose one of our parties.

This author, Brooks Harrington, thinks that Jesus would be a big-government socialist with an agenda to belittle and destroy the family unit? He thinks Jesus would join the abortion enthusiasts in their zeal to help Democrat politicians launder campaign funds through the baby-killing industry? He supports "jackpot justice" for trial lawyers who go after "deep pockets" every time a baby is born less than perfect or somebody spills hot coffee on their lap? Harrington believes that Jesus would support the same politicians who are today supported by screeching feminists, Hollywood drunks, condom throwers, and race hustlers?

Harrington believes that governmant should continue to confiscate more and more money from working Americans (under threat of jail, and loss of home and business) in order that Liberal Democrat politicians may use that confiscated money to buy the votes of their constituencies of losers and parasites?

Harrington is a lying scumbag. You cannot be a liberal Democrat and a Christian.

That is an easy answer to a complex problem.

A friend of mine was adopted by loving, caring parents. She is so thankful that her birth mother allowed her to be adopted, rather than having an abortion!

How would Jesus respond?

The entire Bible, Paul says, reflects "the mind of Christ." Do not confuse what He says during His ministry about personal ethics (ie. Sermon on the Mount) with positions on public policy. The LJC loved the Word and what it says reflects His divine viewpoint.

"Turning the other cheek," for instance, has been deliberately twisted by the liberals as inveighing against other well-spelled out positions in the Word regarding capital punishment. That is just one way that famous discourse has been misused and abused to advance positions about civic law. In fact, the LJC was conspicuously close-mouthed with regard to affairs of government, even when it came to Herod's unjust imprisonment of John.

Why? An ill-timed confrontation with the civic and religious rulers would have completely side-tracked Him from His destiny and the appointed "hour" of such a conflict. Furthermore, that was not His assignment. The Judeo-Christian ethic is spelled out in the entirety of Scripture -- not isolated, out-of-context passages.

Hey fella dont break your arm patting yourself on the back for this .........

Liberals were responsible for a minimum wage, Social Security, Medicare, workplace safety regulations, civil rights legislation, a progressive income tax, protection of the environment

They were somewhat responsible for them yes and from their creation they have been responsible for using them as tools to steal money from anyone they deem to wealthy for their own good these things are now used for leverage against anyone who does not bow to the Liberal Montra

That son did not live among the CEOs and the wealthy of his time.

No he didnt live among them but he healed them blessed them taught them and at times attacked them for there transgressions but most of all he didnt attack them for being Christian as you are sir !

You write that Christian liberals make their own rules and ignore God's

Sorry! the word rights doesn't occur in the KJV.

There is one verse containing the word security

Act 17:9 And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go

Sorry! the words income tax don't occur together in the KJV.

The Now Democratic Party is a group of elitists and indoctrinated fools. I do not think it is even communism, socialism anymore but simply put, the haves and have nots, good vs evil. The only way elitists can keep their power is to keep everyone else from achieving this.

How do they accomplish this? Well, the first thing is to take fools and indoctrinate them. Once they are fully indoctrinated, you send them out to indoctrinate others. You indoctrinate them young so they have not the education to question or think. You indoctrinate a race of people by taking a few of their own, give them a taste of the elitism and they will turn on their own just so they can keep the limited power they have been given. These jackals turn a blind eye to the destruction of drugs, ghettos schools, their men becoming eunuchs, families destructing and continue to blame the only way out of breaking this cycle at fault. How do these jackals sleep at night knowing the destruction and lives they are destroying? All for little bit of silver.

You take a group of people believing in the Almighty, go to church every Sunday and because the elitists tells them they are for the poor and hungry and only they know how to help them, these fools blindly follow. My question to them is this. If in fact, these elitists know what is best for the poor than why do we still have these same poor, generation after generation? How many generations will it take before the cycle of poverty is broken? 5, 10, 20, maybe 100?

These same elitists tells us that we should all have universal healthcare and they know best how to administer. Would this universal health care guarantee me a kidney if because of my alcoholic intake I needed one just like a senator which will remain nameless? I wonder who died waiting for a kidney because a certain someone (elitist) was more important than they.

How dare the working stiff demand a tax break? Didn't you know the tax breaks only went to the richest 1%? Unh...The richest 1% does not pay taxes, they do not get paid a salary.....Did you know that Kerries paid less in taxes than the Bushes while the Kerries are ten times richer than the Bushes? I am going to trust a man who has a manservant waiting on him hand and foot? This elitist who never worked a day in his life including the senate can tell me how despicable I am for wanting to keep more of my hard earned money I worked for? These fools buy it hook, line and sinker.

The elitists sees nothing wrong with suicide bombers in the malls, schools etc. Why Europe has been putting up with this for along time. United States has to get with the program so stated the potential future first Lady. Of course these malls, schools, buses etc would not be occupied by any elitists now, would it?

I have never seem more antisemitic hatred as I have seem on the democrat side but some Jews feel safer among these haters than they do Christians. I can now understand how Hitler succeeded. Do the Jews understand the Christians are behind Israel and do not want it nor them destroyed? Until these Jews understand that we share the same enemy that is determined to destroy us, will the the cycle of ignorance be broken.

"Brooks Harrington is a Fort Worth attorney and a summa cum laude graduate of SMU's Perkins School of Theology."

Liberals insist on separation of Church and State, yet they invoke God when it suits their purpose. They break the Commandments in God's name. 40 million dead, because we can't care for them, we did not plan for them, they are unwanted and a burden. They can do this, because they have and are still succeeding with their con. A con that says God sent them to provide. Yet God and God's law is not to be mentioned. It is a sin they say, to do so. That's why Harrington ignores what was really given on Mt. Sinai and says' " the vision of human community that God gave to us at Mount Sinai and through his prophets."

It began by working on the Commandment thou shalt not steal. Theft for charitable purposes they say, is not stealing, it is God's Command. There is no such command. "The religious rich", Harringtom speaks about, are those that have little. Harrington wishes to grab it and squander it in decadence and sin. Perhaps he's never been to hollyweid, or any of the liberal ruler's digs, or maybe he's just blind.

"Man's lowest nature is idolatry."

Yeah, that's your D party you worship and evangelize Mr. H.

" And it is idolatry to claim Jesus as the authority for war and protection of wealth and effective indifference to poverty."

It is not. Being false witness is a sin and you have done that here Mr H. Govm'ts only justification is to protect rights. THe war is to protect life nad the wills of the citizens against the jihadi onslaught. They are not God's children, because they have rejected even His Spirit. Your intent is to surrender to them and pay them homage. Your peace is the peace of surrender to evil.

"It is idolatry to claim that the Republican Party -- or indeed any party -- is the party of Jesus. It is idolatry to try to reduce Jesus to an apologist for any narrow self-interest. "

Obfuscation is just part of the con here Mr D. THe R party is not justified by Jesus, nor does it claim to be. Some of it's members do recognize Him and are consistent with His teachings far more than the Ds are.

"In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus gave those who profess him as Lord his parting "rules." He told us that insomuch as we help the poor, the sick, the imprisoned and the suffering, we help him."

Matthew 25:40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'" You're advocating taking away what does not belong to you in God's name. Not only the goods, but the services and will of all. Not for the glory of God do you do this, but for your own glory, for you have forbidden His Word from the public schools and arenas you claim as God's work. You've used God's name in vain, beared false witness against Him and taken not only what is His, but what is His people's. You should be pounding on the Johns' door, not on His people's doors. Matt 23:27-28"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

The Republican party protects the life, Freedom and rights of men. That is what's important.

There is no concern for the entirety of Scriptures, only the snippets they can twist and distort. This was the same modus operandi employed by Satan in the wilderness with the Lord.

Amen. I was thinking a similar thing during the debates the other night - Satan managed to talk Eve, by his deceitful glibness and false promises, into breaking God's laws. Being able to lie convincingly is not an honorable trait, its an evil one.

Think it through. If it is morally legitimate to kill a child (or let someone kill him) when he is at his most helpless and vulnerable, because you don't think much of the lifestyle he might have to accommodate himself, then this same principle applies throughout his life, not just during gestation.

Furthermore, since most leftists are miserable unhappy people looking for an earthly utopia, they too are candidates for abortion. /sarc

Well, if you believe that God is omnicient (all knowing), omnipresent(present everywhere) and omnipotent (all powerful), then you'd agree that every human being is planned and loved by the creator. There aren't any accidental pregnancies. When we terminate the life of a pre-born child, we are guilty of trying to be god and destroying another human's life because of our inability to see any worth in them because of their earthly circumstances. Did man create god? Or did God create man?

Not at all. When government supplied the paycheck, the father became superfluous. Malcolm X viewed the Great Society as a conspiracy to destroy blacks because he foresaw this problem. While I think that he was wrong, in that no malice but the best of intentions were involved in this horribly mistaken policy, the effect was exactly as he predicted.

I see no problem with a social safety net for those who truly cannot work, i.e. children and the elderly. However, we must make sure that our charity does not fall victim to the law of unintended consequences.

As a friend explained it to me:

Christianity is where I give to you.

Socializm is where you take from me (at gunpoint)

And for the other poster, the DNC doesn't have a lock on Satan. Quite the other way around.

His article is laughable and ludricrous beyond words.
