How about this poll question:

Did the vice presidential debate help you decide which VP candidate looked like he had a clue?

On MSNBC the pundits are declaring a Cheney victory in the most decisive terms that I have ever heard. Fox’s pundits actually said Edwards won the second half of the debate. At The Corner, many of the bloggers are calling it a draw. I am with MSNBC, Big Time. I have never seen a poorer performance in a debate than I saw from Edwards tonight – at least not that I can recall. Maybe someone can remind me of one.

A couple of the quotes that Tom Brokaw, Tim Russert and Chris Matthews are repeating (in awe, actually) are the one about not being able to stand up to al Queda if they can’t stand up to Howard Dean, and the one about meeting Edwards for the first time on that stage tonight. Matthews said Cheney had his ammunition and went hunting for squirrel, and he found a squirrel. Russert said Cheney could take Trump’s place on the Apprentice because tonight he told Edwards, “you’re fired.”

Now the pundits on MSNBC are talking about how Cheney made a clear and decisive case that Edwards is not ready to be a heartbeat away. First Gwen Ifill did a pretty decent job as moderator and now the pundits on MSNBC, of all places, are calling it correctly. Cheney definitely hit a home run.

One thing Matthews has been harping on for months and just can’t seem to understand came up in his analysis tonight. Brian Williams played the clip of Cheney saying he never said there was a connection between Iraq and 9/11, then showed a clip from MTP where Cheney said the action against Iraq was an integral part of the war against terrorists and especially those who attacked us on 9/11. They claimed it was Cheney saying Iraq was connected to 9/11. It was not. Let me explain this to Matthews one more time. Iraq was not about retribution for 9/11/2001. It was about preventing a 9/11/2005 or 2006 or 2007. Is that really so hard to understand?

Bush will decisively spell out the Iraq-alQaeda connection tomorrow, and it won't be what you think.
This is IT: Shortly after we lost 3,000 Americans, Bush set about to do three things--crush the Taliban in Afghanistan who harbored AQ, go after UBL and his band of bloodthirsty animals, and ------here's what Kedwards doesn't seem to grasp

launch offensives against terrorists, and those who harbor terrorists wherever they hide. Iraq is the war on terror; Afghanistan was the war on the Taliban; the hunt for UBL goers on. Everything else is Democrat smokescreens intended to accuse this administration of "dropping the ball" when it comes to getting binLaden. Shame on them.
Any questions, Silky Pony?????

Gwen Ifill did a pretty decent job as moderator

She was much better than Bolshevik Jim, and, at least, asked Edwards some question that put him on defense.

I think she did a great job as moderator. Her questions were direct, to the point, and were equally challenging for both candidates. I was impressed by her job - probably because the contrast between her and Lehrer was so stark. Cheny won BIG TIME.........( they should have had a mercy rule )....

CBS poll 78% Edwards, that's awesome!

Brain dead.
Who are these people? I think it's official. I think I'm more afraid of Kerry/Edwards then Osama.
Absurd? I don't know.
If Kerry/Edwards win, that will mean we are really surrounded by the insane!

I know, I voted no.
I'm sure that's what they want, a no vote.
I just wanted to see the results!

That all depends on the level of the debate. I thought Edwards did as well as most high school students on the debate clubs.

Of course I wouldn't put them a heartbeat from the presidency when millions of lives are at stake either ...

Stockdale, Mondale and Carter.
Edwards did look pretty awful. "The country has never been so divided" Right, Edwards, except when the Democrats started the Civil War.
