A man in a chicken costume and other activists greeted students leaving Howard Middle School Wednesday with messages that eating meat would lead to food poisoning and obesity, according to Local 6 News.
The chicken and members of the group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals delivered their messages at a street corner near Howard Middle School after being kicked off school property earlier in the day.
PETA group members gave out trading cards to the students telling them that eating chicken and beef is bad, according to the report. The students were also given letters for their parents.
"That wasn't appropriate for our kids to come out of the school house and have a protest or political statement being made," Howard Middle School Principal Tim Smith said. "We teach the appropriate things in the classroom."
PETA member Ben Goldsmith said Orlando is one of 12 cities on a list for the campaign.
"Our kids turn on the television and they are bombarded with ads from the meat industry, the chicken industry, telling them that eating dead animals is fun and it's good for their health," Goldsmith said. "That's not true."
The group said they will travel to Tampa, Fla., Thursday.
Gee...Eating lots of meat has helped me lose 70lbs and greatly improve my health.
I have lost 80lbs eating only lean meats chicken fish etc very litle sugar intake. BUT I also eat red meat sparingly. Red meat is necessary. Congratulations on the 70 lbs. I am almost to my High School weight. Only 10 more lbs. I also am heavy on the greens very little pork etc. Feels good to be skinny again. LOL
The foods which cause the most obesity problems are sugar cane and corn (as in corn syrup). Both of those are plants.

Chicken and Beef are bad? PETA must be the radical group Pigs: Extremely Tasty Animals.
That is a lot of weight loss !!! Guess you are going easy on the Jack in the Black too !! Ha !!
I'm anti-PETA but not pro-Atkins. Frankly, I find a low fat diet much easier for me, and I'd probably be physically ill after a week or so on it. Most of what I eat is probably carbs, but that's just my nature, but I can still have whatever meat I want (it's low fat, not no fat, and I really don't have the desire for large portions of red meat any more).
Milk and yogurt can too .... as well as legumes. DESTROY LEFTIST DISINFO!
Thanks, People Eating Tasy Animals is good too. Any more for the list?
Yes it does.
Congrats on your loss, as well.
Yes, there is more than one way to lose weight. I change from Atkins to higher carb calorie counting and back. I've lost more with Atkins than any other though except....I went on Richard Simmons Deal a Meal ten years ago and the weight really fell off but it is a very tough diet to stay on and requires careful meal planning.
When I worked in the Pentagon, I lived over by Capital Hill in DC. I rode my bike to work and just that modest exercise allowed me to eat a lot more of the good stuff.
I did the math the other day to try to get the best estimate on the amount of cookies I've eaten in my lifetime. By my reckoning I've eaten over 2000 lbs. of cookies in 49 years. And that does not include doughnuts, cake, or other sweet foods.
I',m 6'3" and currently weight 218.
Once they were outside the school property, nothing illegal occurred. Free speech must not be targeted, even if we find the speechmaker to be something worthy of ridicule!
ROFL! If you came up with this yourself, you're a genius. If you're repeating it, you're pretty smart. Thanks for the laugh.
Love that one as it is my tagline
Now, turn and salute the UnitedWorld flag. And keep your negative speech to yourself.
Yes. I chuckled.
Read the nick....I am repeating it. But thanks anyway.
Guess you are going easy on the Jack in the Black too !! Ha
VERY LITTLE
Time Mr. Goldsmith found himself in a law suit. Oh and I had fun with my workmates eating our ground dead cows. Mmmmm.
