Looks cool and probably feels great if you are not afraid of heights. Me? Well I would be doing a load in my pants.

I'm the same as you. I can't stand to see other people doing it--pictures, movies, real life. Went to the circus last week and it was very scary--all I could think the whole time was that someone was going to lose their balance and fall. Most of them had nets but I think the lady that had the horses and also was hoisted into the air and did some "tricks" up there didn't. The one act that freaked me out the most was a couple that was walking upside down--way above the arena.

Is that a CIWS visible in the second picture? On the carrier's port side, to the left of the fourth aircraft from the bottom?
Looks like fun. Of course, I imagine if they were doing it for keepsies it wouldn't be under daylight conditions, which would tend to diminish the fun factor a bit...

in the case of uncorrectable osculation
The word you want, I suspect, is "oscillation."LOL! You stick to your special operations and he'll stick to his!
Hey, both involve dynamic motion.

What causes the fear in me is when my sense of depth perception is disrupted abruptly. Like that picture over the side of the building. Rationally, I knew I wasn't or couldn't fall, but I momentarily lost sense of the depth of my field of vision. I recovered in seconds, but it is really a weird feeling. The photo looking straight down on the ship caused a similar reaction.

Pic 2, Talk about an E-Ticket!
They need to make this into a virtual ride, sorta like The Michael Vick Experience.

Whew! That's an "E" ticket ride for sure.

NO, but I don't know the specific radar inside that dome.
Perhaps aircraft landing guidance/glide slope?
The two visible CIWS are the two "H" -shaped weapons (think of an "=" sign with a white dot in the middle) on both sides of the flight deck: The CIWS radar dome (from above) is roughly 36" in diameter, the CIWS platform is square and has two radar electronics enclosures below the white dome.
Gin sticks out below the dome.

I'm on dial-up. Its worth the wait! If you're on DSL or Cable it must need adjusted. They should be toned down to at least 800X600 though, so fit on one screen.
