CHENEY SIS JUMPS INTO LESBIAN FRAY
New York Post ^ | October 17, 2004 | STEFAN C. FRIEDMAN

October 17, 2004 -- Add Mary Cheney's sister's name to a growing list of Cheney family members angry with Sen. John Kerry for bringing up Mary and her sexuality at last week's debate in Tempe, Ariz. Appearing on "Good Morning America" alongside first-daughter hopeful Vanessa Kerry, Liz Cheney — a married mother of four — said an apology from the Democratic nominee "would be appropriate."

But Kerry's daughter defended her dad's comments and noted that Mary Cheney's sexual preference is a matter of record.

"My father's point was the concept was celebrating a strong family," the younger Kerry said, adding that his comments echoed what Sen. John Edwards said to Cheney himself at the vice-presidential debate. "But when you choose to be part of a campaign, you choose to make yourself public."

I guess this is why they didn't choose Alexandra Kerry to go on the show?:

The first-daughter melee came as their dads ripped each other while campaigning in two of the most hotly contested states.

Marking exactly one year since Kerry voted against the $87 billion bill to provide equipment to U.S. soldiers in Iraq, Bush blasted the Massachusetts senator for voting with political polls and not on principle.

"At a time of great threats to our country, at a time of great challenges in the world, the commander-in-chief must stand on principle — not the shifting sands of political convenience," Bush said.

Well, that may have been your father's point, dear, but the result was a classless intrusion into an American citizens private life. That we have to explain that to you proves our point that you are so removed from REAL Americans that you don't know how to behave.

well, if we can go around and tell the truth about dick's daughter then we can be up front and honest about kerry's daughters.

#1 both ugly, but one uglier than the other. This is an honest observation and don't tell me beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that only works when you are drunk and it is 2:30 AM

#2 less ugly one showed up in public in a see-through-and-view her nasty boobs dress, I guess that was to take your eyes off her face

#3 It is time to take a close look at kerry's daughters sexual past and present. Any STD?

If anything goes then time to let it fly.
Then we can say we meant no harm too.

Constitutional "right to privacy" protections (if any) are only binding on federal and state governments. The Fourth Amendment, for example, is not effective against private entities.

For that, we would turn to the common law of torts, specifically privacy protection against the tort of "intrusion".

The Restatement (Second) of Torts, 652D. Publicity Given to Private Life provides that:

One who gives publicity to a matter concerning the private life of another is subject to liability to the other for invasion of his privacy, if the matter publicized is of a kind that:
(a) would be highly offensive to a reasonable person, and
(b) is not of legitimate concern to the public.

Sounds like we have a winner.

"American Justice" had a program about the Mafia investigations. The Mafia was making threatening phone calls to the wife on one of the investigators. The investigator met (informally) with one of the dons and suggested leaving family members alone. The Mafia agreed, no harassment of children, spouses, etc. by either side.

I guess the Kerry/Edwards campaign don't rise to Mafia level.

Try understanding the 9th Amendment. A right doesn't have to be emumerated to exist.

Why would you object to our rights to a private life, liberty, and private property?

We all know that Kerry and Edwards did not bring up Mary Cheney's sexuality because of a strong family life. That is a bunch of bs.

We also know that the Cheneys love their daughter(s). It's that simple.

No, haven't seen it. Actually, there hasn't been a movie in a long time that I feel compelled to see. However, the ultimate paparazzi movie remains Fellini's La Dolce Vita that coined the word.

"Try understanding the 9th Amendment."

I should ask you to do the same.

Are you suggesting that Mary Cheney's privacy is protected from private, individual intrusion by the ninth amendment?

That picture is an old paparazzi trick.

Um... she was at a FILM FESTIVAL. There were cameras *everywhere* on the red carpet. She should've known better (and probably did).
