That picture is an old paparazzi trick.

There used to be a method for countering old paparazzi tricks. They involved calling a ward heeler or city councilman's political aide. The paparazzo responsible for the photo would then wake up one morning in a garbage can with two broken knees and a busted camera, and wearing his ass for a hat.

But that was before we got all civilized and all.

Have you seen the film Paparazzi? Tom Sizemore plays the heavy, and there are cameos by Brad Pitt and other Hollywood luminaries. Mel Gibson has a silent cameo that is a visual inside-Hollywood gag about "anger management".

No, haven't seen it. Actually, there hasn't been a movie in a long time that I feel compelled to see. However, the ultimate paparazzi movie remains Fellini's La Dolce Vita that coined the word.
