I just had the misfortune, as I was trying to digest my supper, of seeing Wes Clark on CNN here in Germany in his latest interview on why Kerry would make a great commander-in-chief and Bush was not to be trusted since he "led America into a war it didn't need to fight."
I would say to Mr. Clark that at least Mr. Bush had the rocks to do SOMETHING, more than Clark ever did while war criminals were running around in the Balkans right in front of our troops. I stood in front of Clark on a parade field at Campbell Barracks in the 90s, wondering to myself why the Army wasn't doing squat to bring these thugs to justice, but also watching a high-ranking USAREUR official over his shoulder glaring at me, with the clear message to keep my mouth shut.
Clark maintains that Bush's job was to evaluate available intelligence and material and make the proper judgments. Clark had intelligence too, and the entire world was aware that he and the U.S. Army were reticent to nab these thugs when they had every chance to do so. He pulled a "Kerry," however, and did nothing. And today we still whine about the whereabouts of Mladic and Karadic, and the Democrats whine about Tora Bora, when in point of fact, there was NEVER a positive fix anywhere on bin Laden.
The Democrats still obfuscate with the best...but many of us know better.
I'm still looking forward to hearing about your five tours in 'Nam.
Never a positive fix since the Clintoon administration that is.
But your right Clark is a jerk!
Clark is such a fool I cant believe he was ever the commander of armed forces....He was Clintons "boy" and he was despised by people that worked with/for him....when he was running for President OF ALL THINGS, his crazy son was on TV saying America "owed" them because they had, had to live in Trailer Parks when his dad was in the service...HAHAHAHHAHA real INTELLIGENT remark....
he is a wussy wishey washey moron fool.....
I think I have read enough from people who worked under Clark to know there are real serious character flaws with this guy.
Thanks you for also being one to put some light on him in regards to past acts (or failures to act it would seem)
I thought the headline was "Wes Clark is a transvestite hypocrite" at first -- and couldn't believe Kerry and Edwards were still outing people.

Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark reversed an earlier opinion that he likely would have voted for war in Iraq, telling a cheering college-town crowd the invasion was "a major blunder" he never would have supported. |

"It's not a way to solve problems and resolve disputes. It's very difficult to change people's minds when you are bombing them and killing them." Continue

Wes must have found some sort of way to profit off the campaign. Probably getting a 'consultation fee' by some satellite org. of the Democratic party.
Just before he ran in the primaries, I recall seeing him on TV giving interviews as a paid spokesman for some company that manufactured bicycles. He was giving a heartfelt, passionate pitch about how the u.s. military really needed these special bicycles for the Iraq war and that they should order enormous quantities of the special bikes. Shortly after this I was shocked to see him declare that he was running for president.
I never heard anything else about the special bikes. I just googled this to make sure I was correct and yes, here's a link to the story of Wes, the Bicycle Warrior -

Here's an excerpt - "But some military analysts doubt that the electric bicycles will fit into American war planning."
As a rretired AF officer, I find Clark a disgrace and embarrassment. He, like most democrats in the higher ranks of their party, as purely self serving and interested only in power, bot what is good for our country. There is a reason he has the nick name Weasely Clark.
Clark is cut from the same cloth as Hillary Clinton. He is a political animal first and foremost, more concerned with his own reputation than doing the correct thing (it's called moral courage, but then all liberal Democrats have a serious problem with this particular trait)..bright fellow, graduated top of his class at West Point..'69, if memory serves me correctly...he should have studied McArthur a little more carefully, though.
He might have learned more.
Boy, I really messed up that post. Spell check is our friend:

OMG...Clark as Sec of Def??? Eeek! This is as unsettling as Kerry in the Oval Office...
At the times I actually let myself think about Kerry winning, I scroll through the names of the people who he might "reward" with positions in his administration.
It occurred to me not long ago that these are the very people who tried to destroy this country in the 60's, then again in the 90s with the Clinton administration -- and now want yet another bite at the apple to finish this country off.
It boggles the mind.
Madeleine Albright
Richard Holbrooke
Sandy Berger
Howard Wolfson
Wesley Clark
This list could go on and on...
"....Bush was not to be trusted since he "led America into a war it didn't need to fight."
What about Clinton and the Serbs?
What great national threat did Bosnia pose for America, Gen. Tinhorn?
At least Saddam TRIED to shoot down our planes on a daily bases.
Another metrosexual Euro-weenie apologist.
I will never in a million years believe that the Chinese embassy bombing was an accident.
