(CNSNews.com) One of the early troubling signs on Election Day for President Bush was the analysis by veteran political pollster John Zogby, which showed that the state of Virginia and its 13 electoral votes were up for grabs. The Democratic presidential candidate has won Virginia only once since 1952 incumbent President Lyndon Johnson in 1964. Republican George W. Bush won the state four years ago by more than 220,000 votes over Democrat Al Gore as part of his overall razor-thin victory. But as of mid-afternoon Tuesday, Zogby had Bush and this years Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry tied in Virginia as well as Pennsylvania. Zogbys projected results in the other 48 states and the District of Columbia would deliver each candidate with 252 electoral votes, leaving Virginias 13 and Pennsylvanias 21 electoral votes to decide the contest. Actually, under the scenario drawn up by Zogby, Pennsylvania would provide the crucial difference, putting one of the candidates over the 270 electoral votes needed for victory.
Do it and throw everything in an uproar. One good turn deserves another.
Don't post this drivel. Polls are meaningless, especially today. It's the final vote that counts. This stuff only serves to make people anxious, as if we need another reason today.
I have it on good authority from the prominent Chicken Little "Sky is falling" poll that all the polls are closed because Kerry had a strong showing in America Samoa and there is no point in continuing. Game, set match.
He has also been elected Grand Poobah in Bedrock.
I think I was here for a year (at least 6 months) before I posted a thread.
I won't believe a thing I hear about this election anytime before 7:00pm Eastern. And I'll be suspicious about the first reports I hear...
Wasn't the Virginia poll on online poll?
Come on people, we're smarter than this...
Everyone denigrates the media but drinks the kool-aid without checking anything out.
Zog drinking more of his special sauce again. Never happen
It's gonna be embarassingly close in Virginia.
Hmmm based on exit polling that was 59% women vrs 41% men? Sorry this is all just more of the same from the MSM trying to depress Repb turnout. Anyone remember 2000 and the MSM calling Fla for Gore despite the polls still being open?
Urgent message from VIRGINIA to my fellow freepers in PA. Please go out to the polls. Even if you have already voted, you can help convince others to vote for W. My wife has been at the polls pretty much all day convincing people to vote for W. People are coming to the polls who are STILL UNDECIDED !!!! A phrase or two spoken by you can change a mind. My wife has been doing it all day. We know you have been working hard and we appreciate your efforts !!!
There is no way Bush will lose VA. We have busted our @$$es to make sure that doesn't happen. Get out there to the polls, people.
No S#it!No S#it!
Close in Arlington, Alexandria, and Falls Church, which are actually Baja DC. VA is a solid R. Take it to the bank.
There's a Virginia election thread people from other states can look at if they want to make any informed comments about Virginia voting.
That said, I still think it's Bush, just closer than we expected. That's pretty much what the crazy sheik is saying too.
I stopped reading as soon as I saw ZOGBY... good time management
If my beloved Commonwealth goes for Kerry, it'll break my heart. I just absolutely cannot see it happening, though, even with the big-government liberal cancer of "Northern Virginia" spreading further and further west and south from DC. I simply cannot comprehend Virginia going for Kerry, it wouldn't make any sense. There are too many big military bases there, and the rest of the state, outside of the DC blight, parts of Tidewater, and the hellholish parts of Richmond, is extremely conservative. Even coal country in the far southwest mountains, traditionally Democratic because of a very strong union presence (a la West Virginia), went for Bush over Gore in 2000.

I read that it was an online poll also. I think it was over at INDCJournal.com
Mentions of Zogby should be banned from this site
I think there is a hugh effort to by the left to break our spirit. It seems like we're getting hit with too much bad news.
