Just a Note
Kerry people are stressed, too.
A guy at my office works the phones for the Kerry Northwest campaign (Washington, Oregon, etc.).
Their people are freaking out over exit polls indicating Kerry tied or losing in Oregon.
Plenty of pressure for everyone.

It would seem to me that of all the "exit polls" the one regarding Oregon would be the most reliable, since Oregon is entirely an "absetee ballot" state and so you don't have problems with time of day, for example Republicans tend to vote afterwork etc...

Exit polls are worthless. Can't wait till these returns come in.

If you're proposing that we call people "peeps," then I propose that we drop "peeps" and replace it with the Clockwork Orange term for people: Lewdies.

Where are they actually "exiting" from?

Good point. The tax payers are beginning to vote now.

Yahoo!! As an Oregonian I have had several posts that I was hoping it would be closer than they had polled. When the Oregonian does the polling it has to be twisted. On the news last week they reported Portland's Washington County now has more Republicans than Democrats. The other part of Portland is Multnomah County and that was not discussed. The rest of Oregon is Bush Country! With the Marriage ballot on, churches have been united to finally take a stand in this state. Pray!

No exit polls here in Oregon because no one goes to the polls. It is all mail in.

I'm optimistic about W's chances, but he's not going to win Oregon. And the fact that these exit polls are offering such startling data SHOULD BE A REMINDER TO ALL NAYSAYERS HOW BOGUS EARLY EXIT DATA IS!
Get out and vote for W.!

Lots of people drop off their ballots, so they could be polled.

I was going to find a picture of one of those little
marshmallow easter chicken candy thingys and post it.
I think they are called 'peeps'.
I thought it might be mildly funny.
So I searched google images for 'peep'.
That was a mistake.

Seriously - the birdies here have told me that Bush may be up as much as 7% in Washington County. Unsubstantiated, but encouraging - since this county is one half of the People's Republic of Portland - or as Bush Sr called "Little Baghdad". Does this pic help?

exactly, no one shows up to vote in Oregon which means the exit polls are conducted entirely over the phone!

Oh, I don't know. Ever read David Weber's Honor Harrington series? Peeps sounds pretty good to me :)

Peep is a typo. The correct term is Perp.
