Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!

Congratulations President Bush!!

It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!

And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!

I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).

The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.

So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?

If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.

Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!

By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!

Jim, in 2002 I sent my husband, first class, on a fishing trip to Alaska. I believe it's payback time! Put me down for one!

"If anyone has any ideas"

Somewhere on this thread was a suggestion of Michael Moore pinatas- a must do IMO.
How about the "Bush's Fault Ball"?

I wish I could go, but don't think I can (finances, work, exc.. darn). Sounds like it's going to be fantastic. Please post many pictures.

Cool! Is Peter a Freeper again? I was asking Kristinn how seating will be, I have no problem with mingling, but would prefer to be in the familiarity of the NJ chapter at the beginning of the night. I just booked my hotel this evening. How you done so yet? Deb, you coming?

I have to see if time and bank account will allow, but this sounds like it might be fun! I remember going to a meeting at Pete Kessler's a few years ago when they were still living in NJ - it would be nice to touch base again.

So have we all regained that sleep we lost on eletion night yet? LOL!

Yes! my mom thought you were great, btw. Fran's my surrogate dare for the Ball as my husband is going to sit this one out so he can stay with my girls. Let me know if you are coming, maybe we can hook up at the same hotel.

I know I already signed up, but I am down for 4 instead of 2, possibly 5. Is there an offical name yet? I still think The Spit Ball is the most appropiate and I also think we should invite Zell Miller:)

At this point, Mr. basil and I plan to attend. We may bring another couple with us, but it will be a couple of weeks before we know for sure about them.

Please add my name. Mrs Knute & I have verified lodging for the extended weekend. Will verify airfare later this week. Is the $$ mentioned per person or per couple?
