(although we already called Ohio for Bush...., huh?)
Can't believe what I just heard Brokaw say. The DNC now officially controls NBC NEWS.
Provisional ballots out, possibly 125k, per the Republican chairman for Ohio. It's impossible for the Dems to pull it out. Still, we wait for the inevitable while the media twits extract their thumbs and sniff.
Since when do networks decide who wins an election in this country?
That's OK. Just reaffirm for the nation that you are ignorant, irrelevant, irrational and partisan.
The people have spoken loud and clear and because Kerry doesn't have the good grace to admit it, the people's will cannot be declared?! These MSM clowns have got to be taken down.
Eh, it's the last gasp. The last rally for the soon to be dead. It's ratings my friend. They know it's over.
The people of this country need to figure out they can
live without the little black box with the screen on
front which broadcasts the "news" to them and tells them
what to think.
The fourth estate is not a branch of government. They are irrelevant in this matter.
That is a good point, but when the media (supposedly an unbaised body (wink wink)) refuses to recognize something like this, there's not much the public can do but wait. Eventually we could simply do an end run, but in the short term we will have to wait for them to get damn good and ready.
And now Brokaw calls Minnesota. So - it is ok to call any states for Kerry - but none that actually have 100% reporting for Bush.......
this is too funny.
I just heard on fox that both ohio senators are urging kerry to concede; based on their experience in ohio, 150,000 votes is insurmountable.
The MSM is despicable. But we already knew that.
Dan Blather was the worst! You could see the dissappointment written on his face! The man actually believes Kerry can still win. lol
The death knel of the old media.
What???
The MSM and the Kerry campaign are freaking one in the same.
Yes, I think Bush will probably wait. The media is not a certifying body, but it believes itself to be so, and unfortunately, most people also believe this.
Whether they like it or not, we've won, and Bush has plenty of time to savor his victory.
I think Kerry might be threatening to sue the networks if any of them call it. See how some of them have Neveda called, but won't call Ohio, and some have Ohio called and won't called Neveda.
Thats more than 270.
I realize that the media is not a certifying body. The media does none the less legitimize the reality that is victory. If one of the networks had declared Bush the winner this morning, each of the other networks would have done so and Bush would have been the defacto winner, with the facts following along behind, Kerry resigning as he should.
It occurs to me that the media doesn't want to declare such a victory. They are essentially avoiding it with fervor.
The longer they can drag this out, the better they'll poll.
If they don't get off their duffs and declare Bush the winner, I'm going to turn them off and leave them off until Bush is declared the winner. So much for ratings.
The press in any advanced state, is the legitimizing body that presents the winner to the public and creates the reality that sees that person accepted by the public.
I realize this is kindof an etherial process, but I think it is true.
Im not suprised. All the big 3 network newsies looked like they were sucking on a lemon. And cnn's judy woodgruff looked like she was about to cry.
