Obviously, I am distressed at the outcome of the election. I hope, but don't trust, that the second Bush administration will have learned something from the mistakes of the first. What is at stake is our ability to recognize our own fallibility.
I established GeorgeSoros.com in order to engage in a critical discussion with readers about President Bush's policies, particularly in Iraq. To all those who sent in messages, thank you. I found the dialogue to be thought provoking, and I hope visitors to the site did as well. Georgesoros.com proved more popular than I initially imagined. There have been more than a million and a half visitors to the site and more than 30,000 people sent in messages.
Having established the site in the run up to the election, I frankly did not pause to consider what to do with it afterwards. Given the outcome, I now feel strongly that it should continue. Exactly what shape the future content will take, and how actively I will pursue the weblog, will take some time to figure out. In the meantime, I am traveling to Europe to attend to the business of my foundation - but I'll be back.
Please check back in a few weeks for updates. Thank you.
You seem to have "discernment of spirits." It's a spiritual gift.
No political or economic system yet devised comes close to solving the problems of humanity and society. The loss of an election - or two or three - doesn't indicate philosophical bankruptcy anymore than a depression or recession.
Your pompous self-righteousness is also without merit. I'm of the Left (to some extent anyway) and am neither depraved nor indecent. Only a fool thinks party loyalty is an indicator of moral rectitude. The claim itself and the ferocity which is used to express is proof of the lie.
The claim that love of God is guarantee against the sins of man is even worse. For centuries tyrants have made such claims. How quickly you've forgetten that every king and aristocrat claimed he occupied his position by divine right and usually the church was willing to back them.

send mr. soros a "thank you note"
HA HA HA
He spent over $20m and all he got was a crappy weblog?
Gee, the Republicans fought furiously against McCain-Feingold claiming any restrictions on the right to spend money promoting political viewpoints was an abridgement of Freedom of Speech.
Now here you are looking for ways to silence Soros.
There are names for people who wish to silence the voices of their political enemies - none of them suitable for use in polite discourse.
George Soros is the Lyndon LaRouche of the New Millenium. He has revealed himself, and in the future no candidate will be able to survive association with him.
This guy tried to buy the election for Kerry and the Dems by fraud and maybe market manipulation. He deserves to lose not only millions of dollars but his entire fortune. The best thing he could do (if he doesn't go to jail) is give away all his money to the poor and enter a monastery. It may redeem his very black soul.
Hey $oreA$$ (that is even more appropriate this day), find your monastary and stay there.
If you hear knocking on your door, it could be the Mossad or the KGB wanting to know if you financed any acts of terrorism in Israel or Russia.
No, it was a means to mobilize the theft and purchase of the United States by haters of freedom and liberty.
Stuff it, Mr. Sorry. You might be a player in international finance, but when it comes to political power in America, it is the street sweeper and garbage man who call the shots here.
But thank you for your cash input into America's economy. Money well donated.
"Another useless bottomfeeder swimming off to EUrope- unfortunately he just can't make the plunge and stay there."
George $orea$$ is dangerous beyond being another useless bottomfeeder.
Do you know what that picture of Bush is comprised of?
"I am traveling to Europe to attend to the business of my foundation"
Taking some of his oil futures profits to Europe to see who he can bribe now that Bush has kicked his butt.
If you did search before posting using the original title words and it didn't work right, I understand. It may happen sometimes.
If not, please be so kind as to search before posting a new thread. Thanks!

We are asking that you all follow these simple posting rules, search before posting, use links and sources when possible, and excerpt as required. Please take a moment to read. We need your cooperation.

If it's a breaking news topic, check breaking news first, it's probably already posted.
To avoid duplicate posts, please search before posting. The best method to search is to pick a key word or two from the title. If the article you are posting is, "Funny Video, This Land", start with 'Land' for the key word. If it is a hot topic, you might want to use two or more keywords, in this case, try 'Jib'. For an effective search, select 'match any words' and select 'order by post time'.
Bush publicly stated that he disapproved of ALL 527 groups, while Kerry only whined about Swift Boat Vets for Truth, but tacitly approved of what soros and moveon was doing. Sounds like you would have more problems with Kerry's stance than Bush on this issue.
You can't have it both ways, either let everyone promote their own views with their money, or put strict limits on everyone. The latter does tend to step of the freedom of speech part though, what if a church group wanted to promote certain values, like abstinence? Is that considered a "Republican" ad? Or another group is advocating for legalization of marijuana? Is that a "Democrat" ad? If both aired around a time of election, its reasonable to predict that the candidates would be asked about their positions on each, so does then turn those into ads for one opponent over another? Its things like this that can get very muddy.
Here's what I sent the fine gentleman:
George-
Thank you for helping energize the conservatives in the United States to enable us to kick your ilks pathetic ass. Your meddling was a motivator for many of us to get involved and beat back efforts by internationalists, such as yourself, who are bent on the destruction of our great nation.
Thankfully the very French-like candidate Kerry resonated with your values. That alienated many who would have otherwise been duped by your efforts.
Once again, thank you for being you. An out-in-the-open subversive such as yourself is far easier to combat than a cleverly embedded one.
Regards,
