Unfortunately, it looks like Condi doesn't interest the Presidency. Talking about Jindal, what about Thune, another rising star? They both won't run in 2008, but maybe in the future...

My choices. I would love Rudy because he would do an outstanding job. He would never bring in enough votes to win. We have become a package society. These candidates not only have to be worthy, they have to look good. And after GWB, they must speak good.
I agree with you.....She's a flaming screamer, not a compromiser and her Senate record is NOTHING!
He won't, for the very reason that he does want to be President and knows that the Senate is not the path to the White House. A cabinet post like Homeland Security would give him the exposure he would want for a run in 2008.
And since Rudy won't be doing it I don't see anyone else knocking off Clinton in 2006.

I like Giuliani: he is too liberal, but he is a loyal Republican and a great man. Anyway, even if he could win the primaries in NH (the State to begin), his support is fragile in South States, all of which we must win. Frist for P, Giuliani, VP

Mark Sanford would be a disaster. I am a conservative SC Republican, and I voted for him, and he is okay as a Governor, but he is too odd to be President. His stunt of bringing piglets into the SC State Capitol and letting them poop on the state house carpet was enough for many South Carolinians.

Agreed. I'm looking for Richardson to run and win the nomination, and pick someone lik Bayh as his running mate. That would be a very difficult combination to take on.

I can't see Rudy in the veep slot, no way. He's so good on the security stuff and so wet on the social stuff, that's the problem with Rudy. Plus, he's an ethnic, lapsed Catholic from the Northeast, from NYC in fact. Might not be the best choice, although I would vote for him. But I'm from NYC.
Just looking at this pragmatically we should stick with a heartland person to run, and I don't think the time will be right for a woman either, neither Hillary nor Condi. Unless the whole WOT is done by '08, which I very much doubt. I actually expect it will have expanded and the jihadi street will have risen up in Europe, but that's just me.
And folks, forget Jindal, I think that guy is barely old enough to run for pres., likewise Obama on the other side.
You can scratch Mitt Romney off that list. His membership in the Mormon church will be a big issue. The Mormon leaders in Salt Lake would probably rather have him stay low-key so that the content of his temple oaths of loyalty to his church won't be widely discussed and so that the historical inconsistencies brewing for the Mormon church could be kept out of the limelight.
Thus for the public image of the Mormon church I think that Mitt Romney will confine his political ambitions to statewide races in Mass. and possibly Cabinet appointments in Republican administrations.
JEB BUSH!!! I didn'think so til after this election. he's a great guy too.

I like George Allen a lot, too.
I also like Giuliani, and I sincerely hope we don't start a civil war in our party over the positions he took as mayor of the most left-wing city in America (which he transformed, BTW).
I didn't see Reagan, Bush I, or Dubya lift a finger to overturn Roe Vs. Wade.
