Marine accused of wrongful shooting needs our help...
16 nov 04 | Atlanta

Posted on 11/16/2004 4:34:34 AM PST by Atlanta

I'm going to start with a communication of support of this young Marine, to the Commandant of the Marine Corps himself. Then, President Bush and my Senator/Congressman.They are going to hear from me and I have all friggin day to do it. I am so livid about this that words cannot describe. As a former Marine myself, this young "Leather" was doing what he was trained to do, adapting to unreasonable circumstances (enemy tricks) and he did exactly what I would have done and what has always been done with a fanatical enemy. If authorities hang this Marine out to dry, I will never stop raising hell and will become a point man for pulling these guys out of theater entirely...MSM is SICK. Other suggestions?

IF the terrorist had a grenade or a bomb-vest, and was about to trigger them, then the photag would have been killed or seriously injured from the video I saw! If Sites was also the photag, then this young man might have saved his life!! He should be thanking him!

Perhaps Sites could share with us exactly how HE was able to quickly determine that the wounded man "was apparently unarmed. Did he make this assessment BEFORE the shot or AFTER? This skill, if done before the shot and if accurate, would be quite a boon to our servicemen.

Sent an EMail to my Congressman (Dana Rohrabacher)

My Senators are nitwits (Boxer/Feinstein), so that would be useless...They probably want this poor Marine in Leavenworth until his bones turn to dust

I'm still boiling about the Old Media making a big thing about this. These terrorists were in a Mosque, is it "legal" for them to do that under the Geneva Convention? Did the reporter or photographer check the corpse to make sure this "terrorist" was unarmed? Did they check to make sure he was really wounded prior to being shot dead? Seems to me that the reporter is making too many assumptions in a stretch to condemn the actions of this Marine.
The Old Media, Congress as well as the Marines should hear from all of us...LOUDLY!

I think, for the most part, the embeds have been a good thing. But there has to be some responsibility on the part of the embeds and the press. This is war. The reporter should NEVER had turned the video over to the press - it should have been turned over to the military if he felt a crime had been committed. He could have STILL reported the story, without showing the video. This is not about censoring the press - it's about the press showing some responsibility in how they report at a time of war. Of course the real problem is that a lot of the MSM is against the war and our troops - and that is a real problem that somehow must be dealt with.

This is another attempt by the MSM to de-moralize our troops and paint them as criminals. It's absolutely shameful.

John Kerry is a war hero for shooting an unarmed boy in a loin cloth in the back while running away. Yet this marine is being treated like a criminal.

If they had turned their backs on this terrorist, he might have lived another day to kill another marine.

No kidding. In fact, that's exactly what I said.

Why you felt the need to give me your little lecture will remain a mystery, I'm sure.

I'd have done same thing. Shoot the turd!!! What was he suppose to do? Ask the raghead why he hated us?

Everything is in favor of the Marine. A Marine and Terrorist. Who gets the call? Any charges have to proven against him and he'll be found innocent, because he did nothing wrong.

Semper Fi Marines and let's Kick some A$$!

Send Sites out on his own in Fallujah to do his reporting. He'll find himself coming home not only without film, but without arms and legs.

No, he does not need our help.
He needs a good military lawyer, not some civilian punk who doesn't know military law or military stresses, and he probably also needs a good Dr. He then needs a complete, comprehensive, and honest military investigation into the matter.

If he acted properly he should walk.
And if he did something wrong he needs to face the music.

Let the military do their job on this one. Outside intervention on EITHER side will only make a mess of an already sticky situation.

In the heat of battle you enter a room...

That's part of the question here...was this "the heat of battle" or a room that was already held?

I am furious over the fact that they report this, yet I did not hear one word last night on the evening news about the dismembered body of the woman they found...

Isn't that just sick? Shooting a terrorist is more saddening to them.

The woman was probably the missing Polish woman. The body had blonde hair and so did she...
