Scandal: The U.N.'s oil-for-food swamp just keeps spreading. Now it appears U.N. money was used to pay off terrorists. Could anything be worse?
Yes, Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein shifted money from the U.N. oil-for-food program to pay off families of Palestinian suicide bombers who murdered Israeli citizens. As such, it became a kind of cash-for-killers program.
Almost as bad, the Paris-based BNP-Paribas bank, which handled the U.N.'s $60 billion escrow account for the oil-for-food program, seems to have broken U.S. money-laundering laws, investigators for the House International Relations Committee said.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Saddam had siphoned off some $21.3 billion in cash from the U.N. program, likely with the help of U.N. officials.

Eliot Spitzer is the attorney general of New York. He's gone after Merrill Lynch. He's gone after the insurance industry. He's gone after mutual funds. The U.N. is on his turf — why not them, too?

Devastating. But the UN is literally above the law. Part of the suggested reforms include open accounting and an audit by outside firms. I do not think the UN will survive this scandal without it.

Who knows what Spitzer will do. If he goes after the U.N. however, it will be denounced as a Zionist cabal.
