It was deep in a Washington Post story about how conservative talk show hosts would be struggling over what to talk about during four more years of GOP control. But now, topic A in cable TV newsrooms is a wicked slam of Fox's top-rated Sean Hannity by MSNBC's low-rated Joe Scarborough . Last week Scarborough said that the new political landscape would prove especially tough for Hannity. "If you've been reading off the Republican National Committee's talking points like he has for the past four years, it's going to be hard to be critical of the status quo," said Scarborough. Too hot? Scarborough himself thought so, claiming he was misquoted. Well, Post writer Paul Farhi tells us the former congressman attacked Hannity not once but three times while an MSNBC PR aide listened in. The channel doesn't dispute the account. Scarborough said the painkillers he was taking for his bad back didn't loosen his lips. But a payback may have: TV sources say Fox has refused Scarborough's "repeated pleas" for a job, and Hannity has rebuffed his requests to flack Scarborough's book. MSNBC declined to comment.
Just because 2 people (who happen to be competitors) have the same views doesn't mean they are going to like each other.
I'm sure there are people out there who rush agrees with but doesn't personally like.
Hell, there are liberal left wing senators who don't like each other (see the late wellstone and more then a few liberal senators).
Hannity and Scarbouragh don't like or have critizisms of each other, so what?
That deserves repeating. Sean is exactly as he appears. He doesn't have to be perfect. He's fine as is, although occasionally I get Sean promotion overload and turn off for a while. Still, when anything important happens, I tune in for what Sean has on it.
How smart can he be? He's Irish!!!!Irish greetings from the solid(red) south.......fenway
He reminds me of Lou Costello.

I'm not a big fan of talk radio and Rush usually makes me wanna puke with his santimonious attitude, but Sean has almost converted (Hannitized?) me. Like Bush, there's never any doubt where he stands and he's entertaining. He could have sat home like the rest, but his multi-state tour the weekend before the election really said a lot about the guy. Scarborough and MSNBC are both noise factors.
I think there would be room for both on Fox. Both are real conservatives, but Joe is placed in an awkward spot being on the Lib MSNBC.
His tour is right out of Rush's playbook. If you remember back a decade, Rush used to have his "RUSH TO EXCELLENCE" tour.
I and Hugh Hewitt also correctly said Bush won debate number one.
We're not stupid, plus we were right, so why do you cite that commentary from Hannity?
Besides, I thought I read yesterday that Scarborough denied saying this (that was the first I'd heard of this minor brouhaha).
Savage has a lot of charisma, and a lot of grumpy old people call into his show. He is reaching a lot of old people that cheery young cheeleaders like Hannity don't.
"Kind of," yeah, LOL! Like a bengal tiger is "kind of" a cat!
That's the difference between Hannity and Limbaugh -- Hannity is just relentlessly on the RNC talking points, news-of-the-day, outrage-of-the-week. Limbaugh, on the other hand, is more original, offering a distinctive point of view maybe you hadn't considered before.
Now, in fairness to Hannity, Limbaugh can sometimes get a bit boring, because he sometimes gets in a rut and just keeps talking and talking and talking about the same thing for 20, 30, 40 minutes. Hannity's show, on the other hand, is fast-moving, and usually includes more soundbites, more dialogue.
Between the two of them, Hannity is much more the neo-con -- a term I use differently than some people do, so don't jump me because of somebody else's use of that phrase.
You can say that again. I've always said Hannity is like Rush, minus about 20 IQ points.
If you're attacted to the non- "cheerleader type" of media, you can continue indulging in multiple orgasms over Rather/Brokaw/Jennings.
Happy smokes....
Hannity can be a little much but I think he is effective for his drive time audience and he has good guests.
On a side note, my son's all star 75 lb football team beat Terry McAwful's son's 75 lb football team today. Ha
Amen...
And Sean had been an absolute steadfast warrior in the battle against Kerry, on behalf of the Swiftboat Vets, and on the front line of whatever Dem vs. Pub battle being waged at any given time.
As testament to the effectiveness of Hannity's seemingly 24/7 assault on liberalism, a couple of Dems I know despise him far more than Rush.
Fox can't hire Scarborough - after that aide he was having an affair with died in his office. too much scandal potential.
I like Hannity, but if I had a dime for every time he mentioned Howard Dean saying Bush knew about 9/11 ahead of time and Al Gore screeching then I'd be rich. I like Scarborough but he's marginalized being on MSNBC. If I had to pick I'd say Hannity.
