Having grown up in the area, I don't know how they can see any difference in the river?

Gasoline In my state of Florida, almost all 7-Eleven Stores offer Citgo gasoline. When you go to 7-Eleven and fill up your tank with Citgo gasoline, you do almost nothing for the U.S. economy. Why? 7-Eleven is majority owned by the Japanese (64%) and Citgo is based in Venezuela. The United States lost a World Trade Organization dispute - brought forth on behalf of Citgo and Venezuela - which challenged our EPA laws. We lost that dispute. Our options were to either face binding penalties from Venezuela or change our clean air laws. President Clinton chose to weaken our clean air laws to accommodate Venezuela’s trampling of U.S. sovereignty. Don’t reward foreign companies that make us change American laws!

...and this is Citgo oil!

I'm really surprised the Liberals don't go in mass to help clean the spill for free since they care so much for the Enviroment. I expect the Libs from cali, mass, nypork to go and help clean this up for free. Peta, earthfirst, peegreen, go get your ragheads and help clean this up for free :)

Keep in mind that they (the Rats) sprayed Bush-bashing terms all over the area and threw pamphlets on the floors.

Point: They're really not that environmental!

I'm SHOCKED! It couldn't be them that did that destruction. perhaps bush did it and blamed the liberals for it? But the enviromentals would never destroy anything, they claim they are peece loving and gentle, even the news says so! /Sarcasm off. :)

I understand that Sunoco is one of the few non-mideastern/Opec brands around. North Sea oil? Not sure.

I buy Sunoco when I can.

My favorite was when I found a leaflet on the side of the road complaining about how Bush is destroying the environment.

DEMOCRATS: Destroying the Earth For The Sake of the Environment.

More than most, but they all tap from all over.

This spill is a big cover-up, at least 500,000 gallons has leaked out.

Ironically, an oil industry clean-up contractors base of operations is right next to the dock.

Very little was done until long after the tug ripped the seam.

Seems like somebody wanted to cash in on a big clean up bill paid for by insurance.

Update

The "officials" have just announced a "recalculation" 473,500 gallons!

Now it's the largest oil spill here ever!
