So NOW They Key My Car? (A Night Out to See National Treasure)

Last night, I went to see "The Incredibles" in Century City, only, "The Incredibles" was sold out, so we saw "National Treasure" instead. It was REALLY GOOD, by the way. For anyone into American history, this was well done and interesting all the way through. Nick Cage looked good and the chick who played the main chick, Diane Kruger is VERY pretty.

Anyway, it turns out while my car was sitting in the Century City mall parking garage, some nut keyed one side of my car. Why? Could it be the "W '04" bumper sticker I still have on, since President Bush is the PRESIDENT and he WON?

Some of y'all might remember the post from August: "Dennis Prager Agrees to Put Bush/Cheney Sticker on His Lexus: LET'S ALL DO IT TODAY!!!"

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1194090/posts

It was on that day that I put the somewhat discreet "W" circle sticker on my car bumper. Up until last night, nothing had happened to my car.

I still see a LOT of Kerry/Edwards stickers on peoples cars and the "W" with the red line through it. Is anyone else still experiencing post-election liberal rage?

Doesn't it bite though, that they can intimidate conservatives in order to create the illusion that everyone loves Kerry? I'm proud of my neighborhood, which went all out with stickers and lawn signs (some which I replaced up to three times.)

What is Event Horizon? Something starring my boy that I haven't seen?

It is an absolutely HORRIBLE science fiction film that came out in the late 90s--a ghost story on a space ship. It stars Sam Neil, but Jason plays the ship's medical officer. I'd never heard or seen him before--but one small clip of *those eyes* on the commercial was enough for me to buy a ticket and sit through two miserable hours.

IMO, nobody is convinced by the messages they contain, and they just make the driver feel good.

A bumper sticker isn't an argument, it's a cheer.

It's meant to make everyone else who feels the same way feel good, and lets them know they're not alone.

I take it you believe all campaign signage is useless as well?

And Democrats have no idea why their base is walking away from them.

Chely Wright - Bumper Of My SUV

I've got a bright red sticker on the back of my car
Says United States Marines
And yesterday a lady in a mini-van held up a middle finger at me
Does she think she knows what I stand for
Or the things that I believe
Just by looking at a sticker for the US Marines
On The Bumper Of My SUV

See, my brother Chris, he's been in for more than 14 years now
Our dad was in the Navy during Vietnam
Did his duty then he got out
And my grandpa earned his purple heart
On the beach of Normandy
That's why I've got a sticker for the US Marines
On The Bumper Of SUV

But that doesn't mean that I want war
I'm not Republican or Democrat
But I've gone all around this crazy world
Just to try and better understand

Yes I do have questions
I get to ask them because I'm free
That's why I've got a sticker for the US Marines
On the Bumper Of My SUV

Cause I've been to Hiroshima
And I've been to the DMZ
I've walked on the sand in Baghdad
Still don't have all of the answers I need
But I guess I wanna know where she's been
Before she judges and gestures to me
Cause she don't like my sticker
For the US Marines
On the bumper of my SUV

So I hope that lady in her mini-van
Turns on her radio and hears this from me
As she picks up her kids from their private school
And drives home safely on our city streets
Or to the building where her church group meets

Yeah, that's why I've got a sticker for the US Marines
On the bumper of my SUV

Give the kid a bump on her website won't you?

It's for a good cause.

Didn't see you, but that doesn't mean we didn't cross paths. Yes, I broke down and got an eeeevil SUV, a great big white one, not one of the cute ones. My girls call it "the Whale", and my sister thinks it looks like the "battlestar galactica" (we're from the 70's). My wife just rolls her eyes. But it sure works great for long weekend ski trips.

I do think that the Moonbats have mostly calmed down, but there's a hard core with a really nasty case of simmering rage. The worst was right before the election though, and on election day. I was driving crews of GOTV volunteers on GOTV weekend and election day, and saw some real venom. One guy even wanted to duke it out! What a bunch of maroons.

Sounds nice. Does that song get played on country stations? I don't listen to country so I wouldn't know.

It does on my local station. One of the Marines over there heard her sing it and wrote to tell the DJ's about it.

It was released on the 9th of this month and they played it on the morning show. It has since become the number one requested song on that station.

I can empathize. Many years ago, some misfit keyed the whole side of my car, a brand new Cutlass. It cost me over $900 to have the paint repaired. A month after the repair, someone keyed BOTH sides. I ended up leaving it like that . . .

At the time I was constantly on the road, so my chances of catching the misfit were essentially zero. No bumperstickers were ever placed on that car. To this day I don't know who did it or why it was done.

Have pity on the vandal I catch keying someone's car, because I sure won't . . .

Please share.

CG..I'll give you my own personal story, FWIW.

I displayed my Ehrlich and Bush stickers proudly up to the date of the election. After that I took them off, the reason being I was reminded what Rush once said about RATs.

"RATs in power are funny..
RATs out of power are dangerous."

On November 3, these RATs became totally out of power and without hope of getting it back for 4 long years. They were more than dangerous, they became desperate and vindictive RATs.

Like I said, for what it's worth.

Bye the bye, I hope you catch 'em.

Ten days after the election I came out to the lot at my Apt complex to find the Bush/Cheney stickers ripped off of both of my cars and a ~4" key line in one fender. Judging by the depth and force of the scratch (deep grove, metal slivers with the paint) they must have been very unhappy with the election results. At the theater, there should be some security cameras that could identify the vandals, no such luck at my apartment.

I saw National Treasure Sunday. Fun adventure movie once you get past the fiction about Freemasons as the good guys.
