Thank you for sharing that column. It's good to know millions are now aware of the secret euthanasia that is carried out in this country.

Terri Schiavo's Lawyers Continue Legal Efforts for Her Life

12/15/04

The legal battle continues in Florida over the court-ordered removal of feeding tubes from a young invalid woman.

The effort to keep Terri Schiavo alive has moved into several appeals courts. Terri's husband, Michael Schiavo, won a court order to remove her feeding tubes. A law passed by the state legislature that prevented the removal of such feeing tubes was declared unconstitutional — a ruling that is now being appealed by lawyers for Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Dana Cody of the Life Legal Defense Foundation explains the attorneys' position is that Terri "has due process rights that aren't being recognized and that are being violated — and therefore Terri's Law is still needed."

And according to Cody, another avenue of petition is being pursued. He says lawyers have filed another appeal — a separate issue that is "going up a different chain of appeal" — with a religious argument. "[This appeal is] saying that, based on the pope's recent statement about euthanasia and that feeding tubes should not be removed from disabled people, the court should reconsider based on Terri's Catholic beliefs," Cody explains. Terri's priest has submitted an affidavit testifying to her faith.

The original court refused to accept this new effort, which is also now being appealed. Meanwhile, Terri's parents are fighting for the ability to care for her. The original court said they have no standing in the case.

Terri's lawyers indicate her case could eventually end up before the US Supreme Court.

"Now if only those people had committed some heinous crime, there would be a huge outcry at this treatment."

How utterly and completely true!

What has been perpetrated upon Terri shouldn't happen to any parent, brother or sister. Here's a new Prayer Card for Terri.

How can J. Greer Order with certainty that the Pope's words are meaningless or that he wouldn't be sending Terri to eternal damnation, in addition to himself. Do these judges think they will get a pass on their judgment day for all they have wrought???

What a nice card.

I've said it for a long time, we're slipping towards a dictatorship of judges, with judges getting away with outrageous decisions.

As to your questions regarding Judges Greer and Baird's qualifiations, the Department is unaware of any deficiencies in their filings.

It's not like me to make this type of comment... but,
WHat a Dimwit!!

This person can't read the statutes with the filing requirements and determine that these filings weren't in the proper time frame?

This is insane! But it's par for the course!

How many judges does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

None, if they're from the Florida 6th circuit! They can do it by telepathy months before one is actually needed!

It's obvious that this needs to be dealt with higher up. I for one believe that we need to go straight to the Florida House of Representatives for impeachment. The House is responsible for initiating impeachments. If the judges and their overseers are "not" going to fulfill their duties we need to call them on the mat.

It would be easy enough to draft a letter, email to contacts and post on the web so people could print and mail it themselves. We mustered enough support via mail and phone calls to get Terri's Law accomplished and we can do it again. It's fairly obvious that petitions are worth nothing. We have to make personal contact to get the job done.

Florida Constitution Impeachment Provision

SECTION 17. Impeachment.--

(a) The governor, lieutenant governor, members of the cabinet, justices of the supreme court, judges of district courts of appeal, judges of circuit courts, and judges of county courts shall be liable to impeachment for misdemeanor in office. The house of representatives by two-thirds vote shall have the power to impeach an officer. The speaker of the house of representatives shall have power at any time to appoint a committee to investigate charges against any officer subject to impeachment.

(b) An officer impeached by the house of representatives shall be disqualified from performing any official duties until acquitted by the senate, and, unless impeached, the governor may by appointment fill the office until completion of the trial.

(c) All impeachments by the house of representatives shall be tried by the senate. The chief justice of the supreme court, or another justice designated by the chief justice, shall preside at the trial, except in a trial of the chief justice, in which case the governor shall preside. The senate shall determine the time for the trial of any impeachment and may sit for the trial whether the house of representatives be in session or not. The time fixed for trial shall not be more than six months after the impeachment. During an impeachment trial senators shall be upon their oath or affirmation. No officer shall be convicted without the concurrence of two-thirds of the members of the senate present. Judgment of conviction in cases of impeachment shall remove the offender from office and, in the discretion of the senate, may include disqualification to hold any office of honor, trust or profit. Conviction or acquittal shall not affect the civil or criminal responsibility of the officer.

History.--Am. S.J.R. 459, 1987; adopted 1988; Am. proposed by Constitution Revision Commission, Revision No. 13, 1998, filed with the Secretary of State May 5, 1998; adopted 1998.

I was writing a next course of action post to you and crashed again. I am no longer with that server. They wouldn't let me cancel so I called my cr card and if they try to bill me again, it is definitely in dispute.

I wish I could remember what I posted but I've been on the phone with India.

Our leaders at www.myflorida.com love to get emails and calls from Terri supporters. All info on House & Senate is at that url.

Embarass the house and senate and also the Judicial Qualifications Commission and the Florida Elections Commission. That's a fine way to start much needed change.

How to embarass them? Not quite sure but maybe some freepers can help me think of ways. Doing the right thing won't move these bureaucrats. Only shame works here in the south if collective guilt seeps into our society down here. I'm afraid following the rules is not something they care about.

Any ideas, freepers?????

SIMPLETONS MASQUERADING AS JUDGES GET TO MAKE LIFE AND DEATH DECISIONS. I know I've had enough. When will the rest of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WAKE UP? They need to help us and they should also visit www.theempirejournal.com and also www.worldnetdaily.com for Terri investigative reports and WND has a considerable archive that portray Terri as the lovely human being she is!

We can always email Governor Jeb Bush copying for him the article that scoop1 posted today. jeb.bush@myflorida.com

"Some doctors say she is in a persistent vegetative state with no hope for recovery, while doctors brought in by her parents say there is a chance she could regain some faculties."

She is NOT in a vegetative state and has already regained some faculties.

How many times must this be said?????????

"How to embarass them? Not quite sure but maybe some freepers can help me think of ways."

Oh, there's plenty of freepers who can help you here. And some of them just love wasting time embarrassing there own.

But to be honest, most of these judges are beyond embarrassment and shame.
